Buying our new caravan from here was an absolute pleasure. The communication from Lee from our initial enquiry to post delivery of our caravan has been faultless. On a visit to the showroom (some 3hrs drive away) we were made to feel very welcome and were able to spend as much time as required to browse. Having decided to buy a new caravan arrangements were made for our trade in caravan to be collected by Peter from our home address. He arrived at the time advised and was very polite and courteous, as were all the staff we had met at the showroom. Lee kept us well advised of all details in relation to our new caravan which was ready for us to uplift at the date arranged. The handover was very detailed (thank you to technician) and we were free to ask any questions and were shown how everything worked. All paperwork was explained to us and it was ensured that we were completely happy before leaving the showroom. We would highly recommend using Marquis Durham for purchasing and service of a caravan or motorhome. We will certainly use again as the 3 and a half hour journey to get excellent customer service is worth it.

We popped into Marquis, Durham, whilst on holiday in our motorhome as we were having problems tuning in our new television bought at Marquis, Exeter. Everyone we came into contact with there was polite, friendly and helpful, especially the gentleman who sorted out the problem for us. Great service! Thank you guys!

Our friends have a motor home and we decided to look for one ourselves. Starting with zero knowledge I found some videos on YouTube including one from Marquis Durham with the most astonishingly aggressive behaviour from the sales manager towards a member of public who was interested in filming their vehicles. I cannot in good faith buy from a company with such disregard for potential customers and am posting this review to warn others.

Having been dealing with Marquis Durham for 4 years now and before i bought our Motorhome i looked into all types and the issues. It seems most of the makes have issues and Marquis have been great on getting these resolved quickly, especially over the past 3 years with distribution and the pandemic. I have dealt with Graeme who has kept me up to speed on all issues. I would highly recommend Marquis Durham as the after sales service has been excellent, always courteous and reply very quickly to emails and calls.

Rated 1 out of 5 starsUpdated Oct 2, 2023Terrible company with shocking…Terrible company with shocking AFTERSALES and they just tell you lies.I bought a new Motorhome from Marquis Leisure Durham at a price of £97500 and took delivery of it in November 2022, by 7th December 2022 I had that many faults with it which I kept getting told were repaired, I returned it under the consumer rights act. Their response to this was to say it was repaired and no faults were present which was a total lie, I left the Motorhome and keys with them as I was fed up with the faults, their attitude and there lies.Finished up having to get a full engineers report which found my claims to be 100% correct, then I had to take the matter to court before receiving my full refund, costs and monies for extras bought with the new vehicle. I have just received my money back on 2nd October 2023.This has been such a terrible experience I have now been put off Motorhomes. I have had 2 Motorhomes before my last one I bought new and owned for 19 years but this was from a good dealer NOT MARQUIS Durham.WARNING look out for them selling the Burford motorhome I returned.JusticeDate of experience: October 02, 2023

Please, please, please make Marquis of Durham your LAST choice for sales and service.Incredibly rude sales manager wouldn’t allow me to film the caravan that I was interested in so I could show my wife.We went elsewhere and bought our first van from a local dealer, at a much cheaper price.MARQUIS OF DURHAMKEEP CLEAR.

Bought our used caravan from Marquis Durham. Staff were all helpful especially Lee Houghton the sales executive we dealt with. Lee couldn't have done more to help us and made everything easy even with us being quite a bit away. Highly recommended. Thank you Marquis Durham and especially Lee.

Wanted a new Motorhome, Lee at birtley was excellent, very knowledgeable and not at all pushy re sales, spent a lot of time to ensure what we eventually bought was exactly what we needed. Great service and follow up, certainly recommend. . Many thanks

I cannot recommend this dealer who seem only keen to sell but not prepared to support their product. I had so many problems that I decided to simply never return there and just let it go but I have met so many other people who have also had very negative experiences here that I feel duty bound to leave a review. In my case one of the very large skylights on my Adria blew off in a storm while they vehicle was in their care. They had previously repaired the other skylight and test driven the vehicle but still refused to accept any liability. In my opinion you should check that everything is secured in a motorhome before you drive it. I had driven up the A1 to bring it in for repair without incident so either they had not checked that the skylight was secured when they test drove it, or if it was secured as they claim, then it was not fit for purpose. Adria, the manufacturer was also unsupportive simply saying that they had never heard of a skylight flying off. The radio and sat nav only ever worked intermittently from day 1 but even though it went back in twice they never fixed it. The habitation battery and door lock failed within 2 years of purchase but again they claimed it was out of warranty because the vehicle had been pre registered, so the warranty expired from that date, not from the date I purchased the vehicle. They carried out the annual habitation inspection twice but I later discovered that they had never confirmed this to the manufacturer so, in theory, my 10 year habitation check was invalidated. Fortunately I was able to have this corrected. But I won't ever go back to Marquis.......

We just picked up our new Coachman caravan and couldn’t be happier.We received first class service from Lee and he kept us fully updated during the buying process. Lee provided great communication throughout and was so helpful.We also need to call out Phil who gave the overview tour of the caravan and how everything worked. He was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions.We would definitely recommend this company and their staff.Joanne & John Welch
