Better Gym Brentwood

The new refit looks amazing and they’re constantly bringing in new equipment. The team are always super friendly and helpful. Tom, Lisa and Mike are an asset to the company and all the other class instructors and PTs are well clued up.

Good gym, value for money. Has a few areas in which they could improve, but which place doesn't? Staff come across as friendly and the few interactions I have had, they've actually been friendly.

I have been going to better gym in Brentwood since moving to London and I have been double charged multiple times with what looks like a duplicate direct debit, despite this quite possibly just being a mistake somehow I am receiving no help at all in regards to a refund / solution. No one on the ground can help me and I am left with the online team who have taken almost 4 weeks to come back to me and are claiming there has been only some duplicate transactions and they stopped in 2021. I sent proof from my bank that right up to currently I have been double charged for some months. I am not being listened to as a loyal customer, despite me moving away I am still using the Brentwood facilities and currently with one of their PTS ( who is amazing) but I am disgusted at how long winded this is ,it’s basic customer service that is clearly lacking massively & not taken seriously. I am being robbed for my money and no one is doing anything to resolve my issue.

Recommendations1: would be better if the floor wasn’t so dirty everytime I put my stuff on the floor, maybe atleast hire someone to clean it regularly or cover the whole gym area with a carpet.2: People constantly sweat on the equipment which isnt a problem but the hygiene when leaving it is not good

Nice gym but don't understand their business model. On Mondays (around 12) they have spinning class where they play the music and commentary so loud that no one else in the gym can concentrate. Not sure why more than 25 members in the gym need to listen to the 5 members doing a spinning class

The staff are great - friendly. I went here for a year or so and it's been slightly improved with a refit, however the price isn't reflective of the overall size of the gym and availability of key pieces of equipment, even when it's at 1/2 capacity, you find yourself waiting to use things. You also have to pay to park in the adjacent multi story or one of Brentwoods other car parks, with no option to validate your parking as with most of the main stream gyms (eg: PureGym and The Gym). I've since moved to The Gym @ Pipps Hill in Basildon which is much larger and you can park for free, immediately outside the gym which saves time and money + the equipment also has multiples of the most popular pieces of kit.

I've been going to Better gym in The Bay Tree Centre ever since it opened. I generally walk there as part of the exercise routine but if I have to go by car it's easy to park for free at Sainsburys over the road provided you spend £5. Easily done on a bottle of wine to celebrate having completed an exercise class.The staff and regulars make it feel like family. To be honest I'd be lost without the daily routine. It does better for my well being than any of the happy tablets Ive been prescribed and I'm nearly beach ready lol.I mostly go to the morning classes as I lack the motivation to go it alone on the equipment although I do occasionally dabble.It's great value for money. Since the renovation was completed. Its inviting and done out to a high standard The staff always work hard in keeping it clean.Next move is to get my husband to sign up once he goes part time.

The gym in Brentwood is nice, but they simply can figure out to take the correct payment, and talking with the customer service (Irish Call Center I believe) they are clueless. So will be leaving the gym

I subscribed via gympass and the process to get in was to wait for a staff member to let me in. I waited for more than 15 minutes for someone to assist me before I’ve decided to cancel my subscription.I find it weird that the reception is a closed door, unlike any other gyms that have a nice and friendly staff who can be approached anytime.
