We wanted a Sunday roast for a party of 12 and this was recommended by a friend. However, it was a very disappointing meal, the roast was bland, and the desserts were not nice at all, we didn't even finish it! The crumble was stogey and custard was gloopy. The yorkshire pudding was burnt and the gravy was watery. The pub itself wasn't that busy, yet it was still hard to get the waiters attention. However, that said, there was a girl who was friendly and apologetic to us when she served us, hence the 2 stars for service. There was quite some wait for the despite us ordering in advance as we were a big party group; even the kids ice cream took about 10mins to be served, we had to chase it!Overall, I wouldn't recommend but hopefully it was just a one off for them?

Warmly welcomed, nice outdoor area with kids play area, food was stunning. Staff were nice and softly spoken. We could hear the pub quiz going on a few tables away and ended up joining in unofficially (and even got a few right - bonus we didn't though!)

Great pub, freehold, so a good selection of drinks. Steven was at the bar when we went, nice chap, we didn't eat this time, but will be back for sure..

We stopped her on our way home from a trip to the coast, the staff were really welcoming, our food was hot and plentiful overall a lovely little pub and restaurant, I would of given 5 stars but they didn't have a child's menu so my daughter had a huge burger, which of course she couldn't finish, the Chequers also has a car park and beer garden with a nice kids play area ....(so why no menu?)

Surprisingly dead on a Friday evening. Food was excellent, but service was bizarrely slow considering there was barely anyone else in there. We were stuck on a small table by a draughty chimney, which was odd when as it turned out they could have given us any table. It took 30 minutes for our order to be taken. Staff just seemed to disappear. When we asked for our bill it came and then the waitress disappeared to clean the few other tables and seemed surprised when I wanted to pay. Very strange that this isn't more popular given the quality of the food and the interesting menu choices

We went to the cheques for a birthday meal . Well never again there were 10 of us and most of us had the roast we waited a long time for it to come out and when it did they were all cold one had the beer batter fish and chips and that was cold. We don't mind waiting a while but when they all come out cold after waiting a long time it's not good. I would not recommend this pub to anyone. It used to be really popular but no longer popular,it's such a shame

Really great atmosphere. Wide selection of beers (both ales and lagers) and was impressed with the gin selection too. Food took a while to come out, but more than worth the wait. We all had roasts (the beef is pictured) and so amazingly tasty; I'm not a Yorkshire pudding fan, but that was incredibly delicious!!!Desert was incredible too. Staff were lovely and really knowledgeable about beer and very attentive. Can't wait to return.

Walked in without booking on a Monday lunchtime, friendly welcome, seated in a cosy restaurant area with open fire, perfect as it was a very wet and cold day. Very friendly waitress, great knowledge of the food, went for the seasonal offer and was not disappointed, absolutely amazing lamb burger and the hot chocolate and cappuccino cake was delicious. Would definitely recommend and look forward to going again! (Which will be very soon as I left my hat there!)

We stopped here yesterday and we had a lovely time sitting in the garden. Friendly reception from staff, good choice of local drinks, and the food very tasty. We ordered sandwiches however these were very nice and came with a very nice selection of condiments.A lovely pub in the norfolk village of Hainford. Good parking, play area for children, great choice of food and drink. There was nothing not to like.
