Lovely little restaurant.The moment you step inside it feels and smells like you are in Italy.At lunch time they do Italian style Tappas.Which is great for trying different dishes.Highly recommend.

I've delayed writing this for a month while I pondered.A friend had recommended the 'amazing' Lamb Ragu, which my son had and was full of flavour.Maybe I chose the wrong dish - the Seafood Linguine. It was both plain in appearance and taste, and sadly lacking in much seafood.The Walnut and Pear Bruschetta starter was excellent, as was the Tiramisu.The quirky Moka pot Espresso was a nice touch, and the pricing of Gin & Tonic was also a welcome surprise.Overall a nice venue, with pleasant staff.Pricing-wise, a little more than I feel it should have been, and the customer toilet is an out-house (out the entrance, down a side street, around the back of the building)

I was walking along Beeston High Street with my wife, looking for a new restaurant for date night when we came across L'Oliva. Stepping through the door into a warm, inviting atmosphere, I was impressed by the ambiance of the place. The music was just right - European, instrumental, at the right volume, - the furnishings and decor well chosen, and the Italian gentleman who greeted and seated us was excellent. But none of that matters if the food isn't good, and I'm picky.Thankfully, the food was even better than the front of house atmosphere - authentic, Italian food made from just a few ingredients, perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned. I decided to risk a seafood pasta dish, to really take the measure of the place. I usually avoid ordering seafood because many chefs get it horribly wrong, serving bouncy-ball-hard scallops and chewy, past their best muscles, but the chef cooked them perfectly. The squid rings were soft with a little bite, the mini-scallops were the perfect texture, the muscles fresh and delicious. Best of all was the oil-based, authentic sauce that reminded me of trips to Rome. I couldn't recommend L'Oliva more highly and will be returning to work my way through the menu. Thanks for the delicious meal!

Have visited L'Oliva on several occasions and always enjoyed our meals. However, this time the starters and desserts were of the usual high quality but the mains less so. We specifically asked if a dish could be served without olives - it came swimming in them but we accepted. But the monkfish was overcooked, tasteless and like rubber and served with skin - awful. While the cost was adjusted after our complaint it still left us very disappointed.

Lovely , authentic Italian food. The menu is more limited than some other restaurants because it is a small eatery with less staff, but the food is worth it!

I never complain or bothered to leave the review but we waited 1hour 45 min to get food and didnt even get apology or proper explanation until I asked. It was my husband's birthday night and we were so looking forward to it. I do understand you had some issue, even my huband was saying it should be staff issue so we were understanding and even joke about how italians enjoying dinner over few hours. The only reason we remember precisely about the waiting time was that we were contemplating asking about our food when its 45 min and my husband said give them more time so i was keep checking the time to ask.We kept our promise by turning up on time and expected the same thing from you but you didnt. We should've been informed when we turned up that you have some issue therefore it will be minimum 1hour delay. Then we could've made a different choice rather than ruined the night completely. By the time we finished our disappointing meal it was too late to go other place to eat.

Celebrated my partners birthday at Loliva last night and had an amazing time. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the seafood linguine and the squid was the best I have ever eaten in this country. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic, with only enough space for about 10 tables but decorated amazingly. We absolutely loved our meal here and will definitely be back again!

Birthday musings ..these photos taken in Trattoria L'Oliva BeestonFood amazing ! and self explanatory in the photosAlthough I'll give a heads up - the fruit is sliced pear on warm slightly toasty bread with softened gorgonzola, drizzled honey and walnuts on top, to start....One of the main courses, 5hr slow cooked lamb in tomato sauce...you have to try !I will be back for other dishes !! absolutely !And of course, the books... the photo's on the walls...A story ..... told in the most appetising, atmosphere this side of ...well ... glad this is local !!!

My first time here and it we absolutely lovely. Really attentive, welcoming service and authentic Italian food in the most cosy setting. Quite a small menu but it was still very hard to pick as all the options sounded amazing. Reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

This was our second visit to l'Oliva - the first was pre-covid, and we've been looking forward to coming back. We booked a table for early evening on a Saturday, and were impressed with everything.The food was absolutely fantastic, and while it's not cheap (as others have pointed out), it's no more expensive than a standard restaurant meal, and the quality of the ingredients is outstanding. Portions are generous, and the food is clearly prepared with a lot of care. Service was quick, and we had maybe ten minutes between our starters and our mains, which was perfect.Our waitress was excellent - very knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and attentive, and very patient and professional with some awkward customers who arrived not long before we left!The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely - cosy without being cramped, with decor that feels authentically Italian without being over the top. Definitely worth a visit, and if you book through their website you can choose a date and time at your convenience.
