Elys Wimbledon

Recently I went to the craft shop in Elys to buy some sewing stuff … I needed help with some items but the girl who was working there (wearing glasses) was so busy constantly chatting/ flirting to a guy (which I assumed he also worked some where there ) I didn’t bother to disturb her conversation. She also noticed me that I have a question but ignored me completely and didn’t bother to even say how can I help you! I found her rude, unwelcoming and distracted. I expected a better customer service from her. Also the shop was not busy so she could have been a bit more attentive! Aren’t they getting paid an hourly rate?! Anyway I left to a card shop in Wimbledon hill and purchased stuff from them.

Lovely store with a range high quality products, clothing, furniture/ beds, toys and more. Pleasant helpful staff.

Friendly and helpful staff. In particular, very helpful Mac Cosmetics MUA advised on the best foundation match. He took care to find the best shade to match my complexion and provided samples to try. He was knowledgeable and thorough. This is extremely helpful when buying a new foundation line.

Had the worst experience here earlier today while doing my Christmas shopping. Basically what happened was the shop is spread out over 4 floors and the first floor is perfume and I grabbed one and went to floor 3 to compare it with a lego because I didn’t know which to get my dad for Christmas and just wanted to compare the items side by side to decide which would be best.Then I decided to go for the lego and I just left the perfume on the shelf (as many people do) as I had a lot to get through and wanted to quickly make my purchase. After I paid for the lego toy, I was trying to find something for my mom and this man from their team came up to me and very aggressively said “YOU TOOK A PERFUME WHERE IS IT”. I explained that I left it on the shelf and he demanded that I show him the product. I took him to the shelf where I left it and he continued to be rude and lecture me on where I needed to place the items. I have never been spoken to in a store like that and quite frankly it was absolutely humiliating when I had spent a minimum of 150£ there that day. For a “luxury department store” that type of customer service is really appalling. I ended up returning everything I bought and sobbing my way out of the store. I understand that man was doing his job but there is a certain way to speak to people and once he had seen the item was accounted for there was no need to continue the behavior, an apology for the accusation would have been much appreciated. His colleague also quickly came up to him to ask what was going on as if it was the hottest gossip of the evening. Ruined my Sunday Christmas shopping and absolutely will never be coming back.

I placed an order online and received an email the next day saying my order is ready for collection. When I made the trip to Elys, however, I was informed that the item is out of stock.I had to search for another vendor and ended up paying extra for delivery as the item in question is a gift.After contacting customer services I was told that this is due to online stock system is not syncing with the store stock and there is a delay for online stock to be updated. This, however, still does not explain why a ready for collection" email can be sent without any checks on the actual availability of the item.There are many positive reviews of the mall but unfortunately I can't recommend the online shopping experience."

Ely's is a wonderful department store with a good range in all departments. The women's clothing section in particular is terrific. Its every bit as good as John Lewis. Its my first port of call when I go shopping.Staff are also friendly and helpful without being pushy. From time to time I worry that Ely's will close because of competition from online shopping but every time I go it is buzzing. Hopefully it will be a Wimbledon fixture for years to come.

Wife and nieces love this department store, brilliant for shoes. Lovely helpful staff in the shoes section. They also have a great little Italian coffee place on the first floor and a very good restaurant on the 3rd flr. (Open from 9.30am – 4:30pm) You should try their wonderful breakfasts.. The men’s section on the ground floor stocks quite an interesting range of formal wear. They’ve recently launched a rewards card called Elys Rewards - you will earn Rewards points every time you shop in-store. The store gets pretty festive during the Christmas season. Whether shopping, dining or just browsing, just love the ease of this well laid out department store ( especially on rainy days). The service is exceptional! In every department, I found staff friendly and helpful.

Attended the Dior event with Chrystal and Ellie - had a fabulous time, extremely knowledgeable and passionate staff who are a delight to meet, we thought it was fun, well thought out and very informative learning about the Dior products. Obviously we spent too much but have started our Christmas shopping already. Highly recommend thank you Chrystal and Ellie!
