I'm re-writing this review as my original view was not completely accurate. HGS came out a few months ago to pick up a load of soil but the driver left a bucket load, which I was very unhappy about as paid £336 and there seemed like there was enough room in the truck to put the last bucket. At the time I didn't know this but they later told me they have limits on what they can take in one load and would have come back and taken the last bit at no extra cost. The company owner (James) recently phoned me up to explain this, which was decent of him....had I known this at the time I would have given them a much better review and been satisfied with their service. Based on this I will give them another try...

I've never written a review, but this was such a great service I thought I needed to! I am doing DIY landscaping so needed help to know what to get, brilliant help on the phone initially. Then very prompt delivery of the hardcore that we bought at a time that suited me. The price is good too. Then a few weeks later when I realised we weren't going to need quite as much I asked James if he would collect then excess hardcore from our driveway. I thought it unlikely as anything like removing stuff always costs. but James replied really quickly and said he would and fro free. In a couple of days I came home to a lovely clear, tidy driveway with all the hardcore gone as if by magic! Going the extra mile and really friendly, organised to deal with. I wish I could say I'd use them again but hope to never have to wheelbarrow 8 tonnes of hardcore up a sloped garden ever again! I would recommend HGS to everyone though. Thanks

So where to start. These guys were amazing. I am a novice and after being scared out of my wits James came to my rescue. We asked for some clean hardcore (not that I know what I really wanted) and James was very helpful. The delivery guys were well presented, smart and pleasant to chat to. I would recommend HGS Southern to anyone who is looking for aggregates or Type 1 MOT and Grab lorry hire. We'll be coming back for top soil at a later date.Thanks guys for your help!

Been using jimmy and his team for the last few years within my construction company , can honestly say I wouldn’t go anywhere else .The boys are always willing to go that extra mile to make things work , which in the building game makes a massive difference, top service from a top bunch of lads !!! I used Harris Grab to remove a lot of soil on some land I have out at the side of my property in Patcham. Price and service was as expected, and James was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
