Was recommended this pub for an evening meal. It was walking distance from our hotel and we were very pleased with the choice.It was Monday night and very quiet however, the food was well priced, hot and tasty. Good menu selection too.Thanks

We ate as a family. My daughter granddaughter and I. The roast dinner was tasty. Roast potatoes were hard but yorkshire and gravy was very nice. My daughter had pork belly burger which she enjoyed. A pleasant day!

This is a really nice pub. Very welcoming and friendly. The food was nice, but both our black puddings were rock hard, and my partners peas were hard, too. Overall it was a pleasant visit, and we will return. The beer garden is huge, we will definitely make use of that once it gets a little warmer.

Lovely pub! I hadn't been in here before but I'd passed it lots of times and it finally took my fancy. They had great decor up for Halloween. I ordered a steak and my wife ordered a cod and chips, the fish was a very good size and the steak was cooked really well! I reckon they have the best peppercorn sauce in all of yorkService and atmosphere was really good 10/10.

Nice roomy pub, dog friendly with a big beer garden. Reasonable menu, but many items were not available including some roasts on a Sunday which was a shame. Roast beef slices were nice and tender and roast potatoes good, but veg were undercooked root and overcooked greens. Good sized portions and nice gravy.

We’ve eaten here the last 2 nights with a big group visiting from America and really appreciate the friendliness of the staff who were very accommodating both times and even found a way to squeeze in our large party on a quiz night when we hadn’t booked in advance. Special thanks to Bella who was really organized and managed our multiple orders and requests efficiently! Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks

6 of us called for lunch one Wednesday. We arrived 11.00 am and ordered food at 12 (time food started). We were told there was no rump steak for the mixed grill so could either have extra chicken or gammon, that was ok, I was just really looking forward to some black pudding .On the menu it said burgers were served with salad. Everybody asked where the salad was... apparently the 3 tiny bits under the burger WAS the salad.The actual meals were all overcooked and the food dry, even the garden peas ! And to top it off .... no black pudding! When asked, I was told they had run out of that too, so would I like something else, I ordered a side portion of onion rings. Big mistake .... burnt offerings ! Shouldn't have bothered. Totally disappointed with the meal after looking forward to it for some time. I did give the guy behind the bar my feedback about all 6 meals being overcooked and all he could say was sorry. I'm hoping this is just a one off but I won't be rushing back there.

Great pub, we come every year whilst camping down the road. Good choice of beers, staff are excellent. The place is always clean and out the back is fantastic, massive pergola that's heated and huge garden. My wife and I love this pub. A quiet afternoon drink today, food yesterday was lovely, cheers all.

I had a fantastic experience at the Walnut Tree, and I must commend the excellent service provided by Rebecca. From the moment I walked in, her warm and friendly demeanor set the tone for a memorable evening. Rebecca's attentiveness and knowledge of the menu ensured that our dining experience was truly delightful. The food was delicious, the atmosphere cozy, and the drinks were expertly crafted. It's clear that the Walnut Tree takes pride in its customer service, and Rebecca's exceptional service exemplifies this. I look forward to returning to this establishment for another wonderful evening.

What a fantastic pub. Loved my lunch in the beer garden with a crisp pint. Rebecca seems to be an excellent member of the bar staff I've never once had a bad drink poured! I also highly recommend the quiz nights they are great fun and only £2 entry.
