Chantry Vets Surgery, Normanton

Turned up to a pre booked appointment at the Normanton practice to find a half shuttered door and to be told they didn't have a vet on site, the lady on site was unapologetic and gave a variety of different excuses about why they hadn't bothered to tell me my appointment wouldn't be taking place before disappearing back inside. Absolutely disgraceful way to treat customers.

Disappointed with this vets again!One of my cats does not travel well so the vets is never a great experience. Last year the vet basically traumatised my 2 cats. He injected one of them and then had a pure look of terror on his face when he realised he had no idea what he’d just injected him with. So he had to be vaccinated again and was cowering in the corner in terror at this point. The second cat whimpered in pain as he injected him. I complained and there were just excuses saying the vet was learning. I get we all have to learn but he was a risk to me! This year their vaccines come around again and I ring to book and make sure it’s an experienced vet after last year. Apparently the guy from last year is now one of your best vets (in a year I’m not sure that’s much of a compliment to vets with years worth of experience you have) anyway I book in with someone else. Comes to my appointment and I get a phone call 20 mins before to say it’s cancelled! Luckily I’d not set off but wasn’t impressed at all. Booked back in the following week. Forward to today, it’s cold and throwing it down but I bundle both cats in the car for their appointment. I get outside the vets 5 mins early only to get a call to say the appointment is cancelled AGAIN!! So now I’ve dragged them out for nothing and due to the stress it causes one of them he’s not moved from under the bed for the rest of the day. It’s safe to say I will not be booking back in with this vets and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them.

I had to have my beautiful girl put to sleep yesterday this vet were so lovely and genuine and Sallie passed away very peacefully the receptionist sorry don’t know her name was kindness beyond nothing was too much trouble and time wasn’t a issue despite it been this ladies dinner time both staff went above and beyond and I can’t say thankyou enough

Really easy to register & book in - both online.Next day appointment (unlike Bartram & Patrick where I had to wait 2 months).Went into appointment on time - again unlike my previous vet.Very friendly staff

I have a dog who suffers from allergies and thank goodness I was referred to Ryan. He is the only vet who has been successful in treating her and giving her quality of life. He is always on the end of the phone to advise when she gets a flare up and I wouldn't consider having her treated by anyone else. I don't mind the journey (half an hour plus dependant upon traffic) as I know she will receive the expert treatment she requires. I must also mention the lovely Jess who came in the surgery last week when I had to take 2 dogs. She looked after one of my dogs whilst Ryan and I were dealing with the other. Everyone was very friendly! Extremely nice when handling my cat and not distressing at all. Super easy to get an appointment and we were straight in and out with the advice we needed. Our cat needs an operation and they were quick at booking him in for days later. Really happy this is now our vets with just moving to the area and needing a new one.

£39.50 to confirm there is nothing wrong with my pet. I was literally with the vet less than 2 mins and no mention of a charge until letter drops through post chasing payment. Really poor communication of charges to customers.Didnt care that i left and found a new vet, basically said good luck with finding one.Response to Vet Feedback: Dont try to explain your actions and policies, they are obviously not very good and poorly communicated if they require explanation.

I last attended Chantry Vets at 104 Castleford Road, Normanton, WF6 2EE, on the 10th and 28th February 2022.All staff members were extremely friendly and professional at all hitimes.The Vet gave my dog an excellent nose to tail examination and everything was explained to me in a way that was very easily understandable. I asked for some Advocate Spot-on treatment and the Nurse gave me clear and easily understandable advice on the best way to apply the product to my dog.In the end the standard of care my dog received and the standard of service I received, was nothing short of world class.I did read one review regarding Chantry Vets where the individual in question was disappointed to be charged close to £40.00 to be informed that is dog was ok and therefore didn't require any Veterinary treatment. I personally would be highly delighted to pay £40.00 to be informed that my dog was fit and healthy.I would highly recommend Chantry Vets in Normanton to anyone. It really is an excellent veterinary service.
