We were told the table wasn't ready and to wait at the bar area. Several other people came in after us and were seated. We waited 40 minutes before we got seated and after we questioned it. It appeared we just got forgotten about. The menus were just put on the table without any polite etiquette. The waitress eventually came over and apologised for the delay. We ordered several dishes and not all of them came. We waited ages for the dessert menu and the bill despite several requests. We were going to be charged for the dish that didn't arrive. Shame because the food and atmosphere were nice.

The initial look of the place was magical. It is a very large area which was partly filled while we were there and staff struggled to provide adequate service (charge which is automatically added to bill). The food was lovely, but over priced £30+ for a steak with NO accompaniments apart from 3 shop bought sauces. You cannot order starters and mains, apparently it comes out as and when it is ready, irrespective of it being a starter or main. To top it all the waitress taking the payment came up to the table and grandly announced the total of the bill to whole table which embarrassed our guests. In all, pleasurable evening, but not one we will be repeating.

One of the best meals we’ve ever had.We visited on a Tuesday evening at 6pm, so it was a little quiet (at one point we were the only ones in the restaurant). Restaurant is beautifully decorated and has excellent views across the estuary (however it was dark so we weren't able to fully appreciate this). We opted for a few sushi dishes to share and the food was excellent, it was definitely up there with the best sushi we’ve eaten. Dishes were flavourful and beautifully presented, and a special note for the spicy salmon and soft shell crab volcano roll which was exquisite and had a dynamic range of flavour and texture. It was amazing. The service was great, completely appropriate for the setting as they were attentive but not overbearing.Highly recommend visiting!

Visited for the first time, what a beautiful restaurant, we started with gin and tonics in the lounge area, which was a pleasant start to the evening, then was taken through to the restaurant area, I was treating my wife and our 2 friends as a surprise, their reaction to the decor was open mouthed. We deliberated over the menu for a while as such a good and varied choice, 2 of us decided to share the Tomahawk steak and 2 decided on the 6 course tasting menu, however when the waitress returned (when we could hear her due to load music) and we started to give our order, we were told we couldn't have the steak as the whole table had to have the tasting menu or not at all, it was not something that I would normally have to eat, but had to order anyway as wanted my guests to be happy and have what they wanted. When I confronted the manager about this, he said it was for ease of service as the waitresses would get confused if everyone was eating different dishes (really) I sure I would be able to assist them as would remember what I'd ordered. This is not a customer focused approach. Ignoring this strange rule the food was tasty and enjoyed the meal. We then retired to the lounge area for coffee and brandy, to be told we couldn't order coffee in the bar (strange), so I had to go back to the restaurant area after I'd settled my bill and order coffee there, for them to bring into the bar, in the meantime we ordered brandy from the bar, these took forever to be done and we'd all finished our coffees, before we noticed them sitting on the bar.All in all a great experience, but some strange rules and policies ruined it for me personally and will not be returning and will not recommend to anybody.3 stars for food, as couldn't eat what I wanted.1 star for service as some staff were slow (especially the bar staff) and when we asked about certain dishes, the waitress could not answer our questions, all restaurant staff should have tasted and know the contents of dishes on the menu.I believe as a new restaurant, there is some staff teething problems. Please respond

Saturday night at 7.45pm, restaurant was busy and had a lovely buzz about it.We opted for a selection of small plate dishes which arrived promptly and with a good space between them. Our waiter was excellent - you would not know he had only been there for the week the place had been openDessert looked amazing and tasted as goodGreat addition to southend seafront and looking forward to coming back!

We had an exceptional evening. The food was delicious and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful. Despite it being a huge place it didn’t feel crowded. The service was excellent and I’d particularly like to commend our waiter Gareth. He was brilliant, took us through all the vegan options and was very attentive. We’ll definitely be coming again.

Went for staff Christmas meal, beautiful restaurant, music was nice however food was not nice and very bland, would say reasonably priced, very hard to get staffs attention even though it was a Monday with only 4 other tables there at same time.. I asked to take my food away it was separate dishes, the chicken box and they chucked it all together in the same plastic tray…. The bill they tried to add things onto the menu that we didn’t have, thankfully when I pointed it out they took off, the 10% service charge not optional I think is a bit cheeky… staff were nice but you could see it’s stressful being understaffed. Such a shame maybe more training for the chefs or better ingredients in the menus the chefs are supposed make.Plus heating wouldn’t go amiss as this was turned off half way through our meal.No deserts were available this was not told to us on arrival

Such a beautiful place and really great service and food. Our fave thing was the cocktails - can’t wait for the lounge/bar to open. Thanks so much !
