Fettle Bike Repair - Lower Hampstead

Such a handy place to know about. My road bike got a puncture round the corner from the workshop. I called them up and within 30 minutes I was back on the road. Kwam (hope I’ve spelled that right) was brilliant! Gave me some friendly tips too.

Ah. So sorry to give 1 star but it was a pretty disappointing experience.Bike broke on Friday, the next available time for it to be picked up was Tuesday. I was hoping I’d hear back quickly after they’d collected it, but I had to get in touch on Thursday and ask for an update. They hadn’t gotten round to looking at it due to older jobs. Once they did look at it, they told me it was the motor not engaging and they couldn’t do anything, unless I got a motor elsewhere, and they could fix it, but it would probably be easier if I just got an entirely new electric system... I knew the motor wasn’t engaging, I’d called and spoken to fettle Putney (who I assumed would be looking after it) before I’d booked in the service… they didn’t say they wouldn’t be able to do anything... So, though they told me what I already knew, I needed to pay the £20 for it getting picked up for no reason. I could also only then get it delivered the following Tuesday. So from booking to getting it back was 1 week 2 days and nothing was done. I could’ve saved a lot of time if they’d told me on the phone they couldn’t do anything before I booked in and had to pay £20 to get it picked up. This evening I got two independent guys over who enlightened me on Fettle and how they’d had to re-fix a fair few bikes ‘fixed’ by fettle.They told me that something in the motor had warn away, they’ll bring some over and fix it tomorrow evening for £100.Sorrry fettle but it was very disappointing.

Very happy with the quality of work and the speedy turnaround. Massive fan of the convenience of having it picked up (by bike, no less!) rather than having to somehow get it to a shop on one wheel.

Convenience is brilliant, however I didn't know that the work wouldn't be finished until the next day and it wasn't until the next day that the original reason for bringing it in was confirmed (old bottom bracket).The rear brakes were not tightened properly so I'm just going to do that myself.Not bad service, I would say a bit mediocre.Fettle booking system is very efficient

Great booking bike repair service with friendly and honest staff. All via sms/website/app. There was as slight delay but a phone call sorted my delay out immediately.

Efficient service and very pleasant mechanic who did the repair and kept me up to speed with progress. Great to have this service so close to my workplace as I use my eBike to commute

Had to chase a few times to get updates on when parts were expected to arrive. If you drive my advice is don’t unless you really have to - parking is really bad. Other than that the bike was serviced really well!

I have used the fettle in Finsbury Park lots of times and always been really happy with the service there and have been recommending Fettle to my friends ever since. I was so excited when the Hampstead one opened which is nearer my house but overall I have been disappointed by the experience. After being given a quote and authorising it a week went by without me having any contact at all, I then spent 2 days ringing the phone number with no answer - I had to resort to calling Kwik Fit to get through. Then being told the bike would be ready that day I didn’t hear anything again until 2 days later. I paid the balance online to try and make pick up quicker but it took ages to retrieve my bike as it seemed there had been no contact between the person who had worked on my bike and the person handing it over. I since have been sent texts telling me I am going to be charged for not having picked up my bike even though I have the bike.. the actual work done on the bike seems great but I will be going for the slightly longer walk to Finsbury Fettle next time for sure
