Birnam Oak
Lovely setting by the river for this huge oak tree. There are a few paths to reach it but the quickest is from the Birnham end of the bridge down a set of stairs at the side of the Toll house. Nice walks and views of the river. The path is dirt but suitable for prams and wheelchairs in dry weather.

Must visit for fans. It’s very convenient and accessible. Only about 10 mins walk from the nearest public parking.

Birnam Oak
Have been looking to visit the last two trees of the Birnam Wood. I finally got to see them in person. They are tucked at the end of the trail, one is an Oak, the other a Sycamore. They are more beautiful than any photo can do them justice!!

Walking among these massive trees is something special. The ancient Birnam Oak is only one of three big trees in a row. Btw, the jokes engraved on stone pillar are funny. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in town.

Birnam Oak
An impressive huge ancient oak tree made famous by Shakespeare's Macbeth. Certainly worth a walk to view. It is a path alongside other giant trees, sycamore and oak - but humorous signs nearby point you to the correct oak. It can be reached from Dunkeld on the path by the river, which continues on a circular route for a longer walk. Alternatively there is a short half mile path from the main street of Birnam.

Birnam Oak
The place in itself is already beautiful, a piece of nature in the charming town of Birnam. We went there on a foggy day, it added much charisma to the trip. The oak is impressive, there's even a small opening at the back of the trunk in which you can sit for beautiful pictures. For nature, history or Shakespeare lovers, this is a place worth going to.

The Birnam Oak is an iconic tree at the Southbank of river Tay and approximated to be 600 yrs old. It gets mentioned in Shakespeare's Macbeth.

Birnam Oak
Lovely riverside walk through mature woods. Can be very muddy and wet. Park down the first unmarked road on your right as you turn into Birnam from the A9 Northbound and walk all the way through Birnam, passing the Birnam Oak and into Dunkeld, then walk back along the main road for a lovely circular 1.5 hour walk. Coffee stop optional!
