Phoned to receive an extremely basic quote for printing and binding. Was told they “couldn’t work it out now” so would email me a quote shortly. Called 2 and a half hours later and they said it should have been with me already and would be there right away.Have still not received the quote. Went to Edinburgh Copy Shop instead, who were brilliant.

One of the worst printing services I went to.Short version: Patronizing staff, dark, bad quality prints.Long version:I needed to print an art portfolio, so I checked the web for some nice printers in Edinburgh. I found PrintSponge and its amazing reviews, so I went directly to the shop. I showed them what I wanted to print. Then, the staff pointed me that there was no bleed, I had forgot to add it, so the guy in the counter started to be really condescending towards me. I felt dumb. Anyway, I asked him for a nice quality paper, he showed me just two of them. So I decided to go for the thicker one. He told me everything would be printed next day if I sent him everything during the evening, so I did so.I sent him proofs (as he suggested me to do, to check that my bleed was correct), and then, after their approval, I sent my documents.Next morning I receive e-mails asking me to confirm details that we previously talked and agreed about, it was annoying, but I suppose it's for them to keep a record of it.So I waited for that second day, and nothing, I was called to pick the printings on the next morning.I went to pick the prints, I paid (on that strange system where you have to tell them your credit card's CVV code), went home, checked the prints, and they were dark, no shades of gray. The paper wasn't as high quality" as they suggested and I got an extra copy that I didn't ask for.Note that I checked my files on three different computers

We had a quote within a matter of minutes and he was very patient and will to talk me through how to get the best quality results for what we were after. Darren printed our wedding invitations & order of service booklets. He gave us really good advice and helped us design them ourselves. They both came out looking absolutely beautiful, brilliant quality, fast service and reasonable price. Would recommend Printsponge for wedding stationery.

I had a misprint on my business cards. PrintSponge said they would look into it and get back to me. They did not get back to me, but I asked about it when I went in for another print I needed. To their credit, from what it sounded like, they tried but said they couldn’t figure it out.I had already talked to my artist and they said it should not have a misprint. PrintSponge was sent a PDF, my artist and I test printed the file and had no issues. PrintSponge asked for my artist files, granted why would that be different from the PDF?, but my artist has sent PrintSponge the files. I have no problem updating my review once the results are in or/and PrintSponge has worked with me on the issue.Further, when they said, “they couldn’t figure it out, it is grey area.” I did ask if I could get a discount. I didn’t demand it, I asked, “would it be possible to get a 10% discount to correct the issue.” The person working got very defensive. Said it was probably my fault. Said he didn’t like how I demanded a discount. So I asked how he would like me to discuss the issue and they said not how I did. They were impossible to talk with. It is business, it isn’t personal. A mistake was made, it was too late to correct, I had already talked to them about the issue, and I just wanted a corrective response as a customer. 10% would have been about £5. I get it isn’t much but I have been a loyal customer and it would have shown sympathy and professionalism from the business, which I was shown neither as a customer. As a return customer still willing to working with them post issue, I was showing I valued their company. Their response to the issue has showed me, at least at this time, they do not value their customers. As I said, if things change, I will update my review.
