National Tyres and Autocare - a Halfords company

I had a blowout on the M40 with my triaxle trailer and despite several attempts elsewhere couldn't get anybody who could take the locking wheel nut off, stopped off at national and a very helpful chap had it done within a couple of minutes and five minutes later I'd change the wheel and was on my way. He was quite happy to help and then just went about his work. He will never know how grateful I was but I just like to thank him for what he did.

Tyres that I bought and had installed here in December, are worn down to a dangerous level, with weird bobbling of the rubber, and sharp metal sticking out of one side. That's just nine months later. I don't even drive that much. Had to replace them.

The guys were great, they helped well the other fitment center wouldn't. Thanks again

Poorly organised, arrived for a pre booked appointment for new tyres and wheel alignment only to be told they were busy and had no idea when would be done (not so busy that he didn’t have time to be stood outside smoking). Tyres done but made up some excuse that they couldn’t do the alignment (in reality we’re behind and couldn’t be bothered), complained online and was invited back only to be told the same nonsense that it wasn’t possible to carry out the alignment on my car due to an issue on the control arms…booked it in to Kwik fit and they carried out the alignment no issue…dishonest garage and won’t be using again

Visited the National tyres because I was sent there by Halfords. Hoped it would provide similar standard of service. Booked myself and attended the appointment on time. The moment I arrived the person dealing with me seemed to be having a bad day. He told me he was on his own and did not know when he will be able to change the tyre. He was abrupt but I did not react or pay any attention thinking might just be work under pressure. I was in the waiting room. Instead of coming to me to talk to me. He sent someone junior to call me in the workshop. He was loud and his colleagues were looking at him too. As I walked in, he accused me of attempting to kill him. It was shocking. I was not rude to him. I had been disrespectful to him. I was not late for my appointment. His behaviour continued to aggravate and simply made it impossible to tolerate him. He made insulting comments about my car “being old” and “not nice”. He was not doing anything other than changing a tyre. Was not seeking his advice for anything. He was miserable and had serious personality issues. He was talking over me and talking to someone behind me while he was serving me. I was grateful that he did because I saw a different person instantly he spoke to the chap behind me. The behaviour was directed at me! He was misbehaving deliberately and intentionally. He almost switched personality when he spoke to chap behind me. I would like Halford to understand that other than being a technician, good people management skills is also vital for commercial settings otherwise people like him are a liability and drive business away. He was unfit to be in a commercial setting. I would like women who are responsible for their cars maintenance to bear in mind that don’t bother yourself with this place, the service provided is not anything compared to your token and business. Go somewhere you walk away feeling you got good value for your money!! If you have slightly modest car, you will be insulted, frowned upon, judged, and looked down on. Waste of space. Shame on you! Poor service and will be leaving this on google for customers to see what sort of people are working in this garage.

Professional friendly garage, second time using them and can't fault anything. Great service at a good price! Will surely use again.

The most work shy tyre centre I’ve ever been to. Annoyingly Halfords weren’t able to do my four wheel alignment at their centre, even though I’d booked in with them?? Fourth experience with national tyres and they honestly don’t like to carry out ANY work.

turned up with a nail in my tyre, asked for a puncture repair by one of the staff, was told to hang in a second. 4 people stood around doing nothing, no cars in, garage was completely empty. i stood around for 15 minutes, whilst staff chatted. left and will not be entertaining a national tyre place again. very lazy

Overall, not had a great experience which is why I am now compelled to write a review. My car MOT failed on repairs that this garage had carried out 3 months prior. I understand that things can go wrong but it was still very costly and I try to get my car serviced regularly so it’s ready for it’s MOT. Having completed the required repairs for the car to pass, I was told there was nothing more I needed to do at my end, and the car now had passed its MOT. Having gone on the DVSA website a month later to tax my car, I get a notification saying my car hasn’t got an MOT certificate which I assume means the garage never registered it? Endless frustration !

Awful and rude service.My mum and I have visited this place a number of times over the last few years and it’s never been a kind environment but my mum’s last visit was the last straw.Had to visit a number of times just to make a booking due to claims they’re always busy but no offers of future dates to book in. After asking numerous times, a date was booked.On the day of the booking, they complained about the work that needed to be done despite the effort it took to book each job. My mum addressed the cold treatment and said “I get the feeling that I’m not welcome here” to which the staff member just kept quiet.The work was due to take an hour, which staff were meant to call my mum after completing but she heard nothing. She returned after a while to which she found her car ready and a staff member who claimed they were just about to call but was sat down doing nothing.Safe to say we will never return.
