Unfortunately a dispute. This handsome micro bag was purchased before Covid 19...possibly in a clearance sale and possibly from John Lewis. I remember it being expensive but not ridiculously so.At the most it was used twice before/ during Covid and then became my main micro bag (phone, keys, lipstick, credit cards) when travelling abroad post lockdown. In mid June 2022 it went to Switzerland for 2 weeks and various day trips to South East beaches during the 2022 extreme Summer heat and finally for a week to Bavaria mid October 2022. By that time this had happened to the strap. When wearing it I was in fear of loosing it and its invaluable contents. I had to abandon using it.Both design and choice of grade of leather are not fit for purpose. This bag has design faults. I took it to this branch of Mulberry to speak with a shop manager. No sympathy I'm afraid.I could not prove I had purchased it within 2 years...the length of a Mulberry guarantee... of course I hadn't... but due to Covid it only started its working life mid June 2022. The manageress then went on to ask why it looked so bad after only 4 months use...my point exactly but her tone intimated I was lying. Yes they could repair but at my expense...£150. I declined because it looked to me as though the next part to fail would be the buckle closing the front of the bag. Same leather...already starting to crack.This attitude is not appreciated and I will not be shopping for a Mulberry bag again. Their bags always look a bit beaten up after only a few uses but this is the first to become unusable due to manufacturing and design faults.... a poor grade of leather and using a D ring directly onto leather that has to tolerate a lot of movement. Apparently this set up is asking for problems. I've looked into it. The the twist and turn of a moving strap should attach to the bag via metal moving on metal...not leather moving on metal. There is a piece missing.I did state clearly in the shop that I would be posting these comments. In my opinion the trusting public should not be subjected to expensive bags that fall apart after only 4 months of not even daily use...especially if keys, credit cardsand phones could be lost. Looking at the state of the bag, the repair should have been offered without charge, without quibble but with apology for the inconvenience.

Went into the St Christopher’s Place store this morning to have a look at the Bayswater Legacy. The young lady was lovely & very friendly & helpful. Took the time to show me the bags even knowing I was looking to make a decision but not buy today. When I decide I’ll definitely go back to this store buy the bag.

Great warm atmosphere, sales assistants are very welcoming and wrap your goods up so that they look a million dollars ( well pounds £)
