I’m afraid my experience here at this official Makita service centre was truly awful.An intermittent fault had developed on a garden power tool within warranty. I dropped it off with a detailed verbal description of the symptoms and waited to be called.I heard nothing after 2 weeks, so called and was told the engineer was unavailable (lunchtime). I called a few days later to be told the engineer was away on holiday for 2 weeks. OK that happens, but no one could tell me what had been found. Turns out the engineer keeps no notes or records of any kind. No-one else in th place can say what the problem was, if the repair was done, whether a part was required or anything in fact.Ultimately after more waiting I ended up going in-store myself. I was then told the engineer had tried it and said it worked fine, so had done nothing further(I did say intermittent fault). He had then left it on the floor with the only documentation a blank label attached. The guy in-store even had to ask me if I thought it was mine!I then even took a video of it not working to get them to believe me. I was told then I would have to show this to the engineer himself only. Of course he is not around on Saturdays.Clearly the standards of documentation are laughable for an official Makita outlet. The excuses for not stripping down the machine just didn’t wash-Clearly the default position was that if the fault wasn’t evident straightaway I must be making it up. The machine was just left on the workshop floor with no communication. The analogy the shop made was that if you said a car had an intermittent fault they couldn’t find, the garage wouldn’t start delving inside to find the problem. Sorry that’s exactly what they should do, believing the customer.Suggest anyone looking for a Makita repair look elsewhere.

Very helpful company would definitely use them again

Got recommended that they were good for repairs so dropped off one of my drills, cost me £18 for them to look at it which was fine, then don't hear anything for 4 months rang them up multiple times for updates and they were no help, then after four months of waiting they want £80 for me to collect my drill! It's only a £90 drill! Absolute joke, should ask you before repairing it basically spent £18 to get my drill stolen!

Great shop for professionals

Great service as usual from all the Team at Wright Hire. Very handy having a local hire shop in Marple. The range of plant is brilliant and they always have good availability. The shop is well stocked with a range of building products, tools and PPE too. Thanks Guys!

Terry and the team at wright hire are the best tool hire shop around. Really friendly family feel, no corporate red tape in sight. They're really reasonable and experts in what they do.
