Had 2 nights here in Dec 22 and it was a great place to stay, very cosy with everything you would need, lake was high so no jetty to fish from. My only problem was the bed was too uncomfortable for me and didn't sleep at all. But besides that it was a great place to stay.

We stayed at this beautiful self catering idyllic location on Ullswater for our Xmas getaway’ .Nothing could have been more perfect, luxurious, welcoming , comfortable and romantic, with everything you can possibly need for a Christmas break away from the hustle & bustle of life!Owner was kind and so accommodating before we arrived and everything was just perfect!! We shall definitely stay again . We fell in love with it completely !

As for photography, you need to position yourself on a busy road to capture a photo. after a rain, cars are splashing a water from a road so cover your lens ;-)

Nice little view with car parking right opposite... No access to the boat house as it is a private property, but can just step down on the sides to the lake shore. Can stop by if you're going that route.

It's a beautiful place but hard to reach by foot as there is no foot path. Neither there's parking space next to it. Boat ride could/might only give you best vantage point to get pictures shown on the internet.
