Lovely venue in an old church great atmosphere. Be nice if they took music requests during the night (even for an hour). Bit warm inside. I felt it a bit odd partying amongst the names of people on plaques however aha. Good service from friendly staff, happy to make a fuss for birthdays.

Very good, choice of 2 rooms. The music was good, staff friendly. Drinks are reasonably priced and lovely. Toilets quirky but clean

Nice place and lovely cocktails. Just a bit annoying that as soon as you're empty glass hits your table it's gone, at one point I still had a sip left and they took that . Just need to be a bit more relaxed on that front

I get why this bar can get busy fast. The interior lovely and love this Historic feel. There is a neon sign perfect for a photo opportunity. I went on a Thursday evening and could enjoy the bar without it being pushed. It is on the small side but they do also outdoor seating. Cocktails were fab

Situated in an old church and a must-try bar on a night out in Chester.During the day, they only opened up a small bar at the front. At night, however, the main part of the venue is open. It has a fantastic vibe and atmosphere. The way they operate access to the main area, however, is extremely frustrating and unfair.I queued for 20+ minutes outside (and it was cold!) before being ushered into the front holding area" bar. This was relatively empty (making the queuing in the street pointless).Getting access to the main area is pot-luck!! You're only allowed access when there's a free table.....and it's totally random who they decide to let in. Many people arrived after me and were ushered in before...including same-size parties! They appeared to favour young female parties rather than having a fair system.Once inside

Wondered in here last night with a group of friends; didn’t expect to be called a “fagot” by the doorman when entering the building, considering I am the gay one out of my group of friends, it did make me feel a bit low for the rest of the night. I’m sure he only said this because you would not tell by looking at me and he though it was a laugh, but just because you though it was safe for you to say it, dosnt not make it ok. Have a word!

I’ve been to Guild a few times, and always had an okay time. Today, we chose to go to the Guild after spending the day at Chester Pride. We were refused entry because of my partners outfit…an outfit, if worn by a woman would have been acceptable, but because it was worn by a man , it was unacceptable. It’s clear that the denial of entry wasn’t because of what was worn but because who wore it and what it represented. We were honestly disgusted with the bouncers behavior. Do better. It’s 2023.

I’ve been to the guild a few times before. Tonight it was pride weekend so I rocked up with a few friends. 2 straight girls, 1 straight guy, me and my boyfriend. I was wearing a crop top that showed off my abs and that was the most it showed. The security guy looked me up and down and sneered at me and said not tonight because ‘I wasn’t covered up’ I watched 3 girls go in after me in tiny tank tops and mini skirts. Security is homophobic trash and I’ve never in my life been refused entry to a bar based on what I’m wearing. I chose not to challenge it there and then because it’s beneath me to beg entry into a bar but looking back I was treated disgustingly.

PLEASE AVOID!So disappointed with this place.I have been coming here for a couple of years now with friends and always had a great time.Tonight, I’m with my wife, I order a larger and a cocktail. The barman gives me a larger and a pint of Guinness….. I told him that was not what I asked for, he replied very agitatedly that I had asked for this. I could see he was very annoyed as he was shaking so I asked to speak to the manager.6 bouncers then surrounded me and pushed me away from the bar. I called my wife over as I was now feeling scared. The bouncer went off and spoke to the bar boy and came back and told me and my wife that we had to leave….Awful experience, I would avoid this place if you want a nice happy time.
