Flowerpot Playing Fields
Nice vibrant playing fields near the exe, skate park, rugby/football field and lots of room to walk the dog. Only downside is the benches and skate park are a little dilapidated and the trains nearby from the stations are of course rather frequent but that's neither here nor there in this nice peice of urban greenery

Lots of level space for all the community to use. Walkers, cycling, ball games, exercise groups, dog friendly, musicians,.... Pleasant views of the city across the river. Watch birds and boats on the water.

A lovely place along the river and flood relief channel for strolling, cycling or just lying on the grass and relaxing. One of the best parts of Exeter in my opinion. I remember it as a kid when the whole area was a completely wild wasteland and we use to play there and fish in a stream every summer and catch newts,sticklebacks, minnows, tadpoles, etc. Sad all that has now gone forever and is just a memory.

Very nice intercity park.Lots of green open space alongside the river.Good paths if you're on a bike.Nice Skate park and playing fields.Downside.Plenty of litter and graffiti. People with drink problems. Lots of dog walkers.

Generally, it is a lovely area for spectacular views of the weir and exe River....BUT spoilt by beligerant cyclists are going far far too fast .

Flowerpot Playing Fields
Lots of open space. Great for kids and dogs. It's a good recreational space for many activities. Often I see people playing football, ultimate frisbee, and rugby. There are occasionally people slack-lining, practicing yoga, thai chi (or some other martial art). I've even seen people practicing their golf swing. There are always runners and cyclists on the paths, and there is a skate park at one end. It can be quite busy in the summer time. There is no car park for this playing field, and people would be better to try parking at Exwick Playing Field and walking to Flowerpots.

Being strangers to the area we were rather unsure we were heading in the right direction when we turned into Western Road. We found a truly unexpected park area and rugby pitches , a real gem Parking available at a reasonable price. Just keep going straight on and you'll reach it.
