Traveller’s Choice

I booked Traveler's choice to spend weekend with my family in this Hotel and one hour to my check in I got a call that my booking has been cancelled and I was almost close to the hotel. I complained to booking. Com to help to find me alternative and this travelers choice called me and stated harrasing me on phone asking why I contacted Booking. Com about them cancelling my booking. I just want to let people be aware of their practice as I don't know how many people that has been put into this kind of situation.

DISGUSTING! STAY AWAY:-Black mould in all the edges of the shower.-Shower was wet like it had just been used.-Brown much built up in shower also like it hadn’t been cleaned in months.-Sheets had 3 kinds of stains.-Black mould on ceiling above the window.-Mattress was hollow in places, and lumpy in others; unusable-Shower products were half used.-Walls were paper thin.Couldn’t stay for obvious reasons, but “manager” wasn’t there when I tried to check out within the half hour since I arrived. Restaurant owner downstairs had to call him for me so I could complain and check out leaving the key with the restaurant. Not one sorry, and he said he would call the next morning to arrange discuss. Didn’t get a call so tried two numbers found online and neither connected. NO REFUND, NO APOLOGY! ABSOLUTELY RANK! FELT SICK SEEING THE STATE OF IT AND APPALLING TREATMENT!

My room was not properly cleaned and place was filthy. Advised as a premium room on. It had a garden table and dated and damaged furniture. Build up, cobwebs and mold every where. I refused to check-in and they refused to refund. The bar floor is stinking and so is the result of the house. Chef was stinking with no hat. Staff did not speak much english. I have reported the place to the environmental health department. You can see dead insects on the window sills. Staff do not have clean clothes on. Chemicals were kept on the floor not locked away. It was behind a badly painted yellow piano which is used as a desk. The do food which on justeat, however the chef went to the toilet and definitely didn't wash his hand because the sink was dry after I went in after him and his black uniform was stinking. They do not follow any regulations. Avoid this place at all cost. Read the other reviews. It says that owner is a con artist. I would agree. They are not paying vat and could not give a vat receipt and the owner has another restaurant apparently. They are not vat registered? I will be giving inland revenue a ring as well as trading standards and the EHO.

The owner has done it again. On the day of my visit he Mr Bow/Danny phoned to tell me I could not stay on the Friday as he had an issue with the hotel and did not arrange any other accommodation. Difficult to get suitable accommodation at the height of Summer. Owner not located at hotel.

Room a nice size, shower could have been a bit cleaner. Evening meal - I recommend you go elsewhere to eat. Breakfast, however, was fine. WiFi was faster that quite a lot of hotels I've stayed at.

Nice small place. With very polite and welcoming staff. Rooms are small secure and tidy. Breakfast available at a cost. But a small cost at that. Shower wasn't great but at least there is one in the rooms. Toiletries supplied also. Overall I would recommend.

Was pleasantly surprised when turning up to the room after reading terrible reviews, the room was clean and well kept and had the basics needed. It was worth more than the price we paid. Only negative I would say is carpark was full but there was parking on road.

Dreadful experience, avoid.Booked last minute due to being booked to play a wedding in the Ipswich area.Booked through airbnb, owners rang me up to say they don't work with Airbnb anymore. Said they would honour the booking, refund me on airbnb and I would have to pay again in person. Well, we turned up, paid a second time, and stayed the night. Guess what - no refund.Owners have been extremely unhelpful throughout this entire process, blocking my calls, pretending to not know who I am, pretending they didn't know what booking I meant. Multiple reassurances that 'yeah yeah I'll sort it tomorrow', which obviously panned out to nothing.It's now nearly a month since the booking and I have chased the owners every few days to no avail. It's not even about the money at this point, I just hate dealing with dishonest, scummy people who say one thing and mean another. They wasted my time and money so I'm going to waste theirs.It's a total con job - surprised they get any business at all. Fully agree with the top review, wish I'd seen it before I booked here. These guys will take your money and run, laughing at you all the way to the bank.If you like paying to be disrepected and conned at every turn, by all means book here. But if you value any sort of decency and transparency, you'll be better off literally anywhere else.

Bed severely infested by bed bugs, no Wifi at all. Just a notice on the restaurant window saying reception here. Somebody was waiting for us there, he phoned somebody else to confirm the card details and to charge us for the two nights booked. The room was small not the deluxe promised on the Booking.com advertisement. Strong smell of vomit in the room once we closed the windows. I was woken up after one hour in bed bitten by bed bugs. Nobody was in the restaurant at this time of the night. No way to contact the manager. The email we sent was bounced back to us as unrecognised address. The only option we had left was to look for an alternative accommodation. Leaving the cark park we found a member of the restaurant staff and I let him know why we were leaving the place. The advertisement on Booking. com disapeared after that. We have been charged for dozens of bed bug bites.
