Signed up to insurance on 04/10/23. Paid £778. Changed my van on 03/11/23. They wanted over £1k more to keep my policy. I decided to cancel. My refund due is only £484. So it’s cost £294 for less than a months insurance. This is because if you read the small print they charge a £75 cancel fee plus on top of that they keep an extra 20% of the refund due too. I feel totally ripped off.

I have 3 motorcycles insured with Principle and intend to ask them to quote for my car insurance when it’s due in December. I have used then for the last 5 years and have always found them to be competitive on price. The service is provided efficiently and staff are friendly, polite and knowledgeable.

There was a problem automatically renewing my bike insurance so I contacted the Renewals Team and they were just brilliant, they sorted out the problems and I was back on track very quickly with no fuss and much happier with a very competitive insurance quote; well done to Ashley.

AVOID!!! INCOMPETENT unprofessional Scams! Purchased a van insurance with them, paid £377 deposit. After 7 days they called and decided to make my premium higher like £100 extra a month. So day 11 I decided to cancel my policy and ended up paying £81 and not getting my deposit back. They charged me £404 for 11 days of insurance. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I guess thats what they do with all their clients.

Received my campervan renewal quote and spoke to Leigh at Principal Insurance to clarify a few details to ensure that everything was being declared. He managed to reduce the premium with better cover from the same company. Very happy with the price and also good to talk to a human being who is helpful and understands customer service.
