My husband and I have just two words to describe Dr. Shafi, ' Miracle Worker'! I couldn't have asked for a better consultant to perform my myomectomy. He truly cares about your overall wellbeing and his expertise and bedside manner are impeccable. He made time to address all my husbands Pre and post surgery concerns. His passion for his field of work is so palpable. Stephanie his secretary is also very conscientious and a pleasure to deal with. I am truly grateful for the top quality care I have received.

I have seen many consultants over the years and am no stranger to the dismissive , egotistical types out there. Mr Shafi is different and stands out as very personable, genuine and warm. He listens and has a nice manner which puts you at ease. He has been very helpful and informative and I felt I was in safe hands during my operation.

I really cannot express my gratitude enough to Mr Shafi. I had gone through a very long negative experience before being seen by him. I was immediately reassured; everything was explained clearly and sensitively. He talked me through options and I felt very much in control of the decisions I made about my treatment - he guided me and advised but never pushed me one way or another. From my first appt with him, my treatment has been a positive experience. My scar looks amazing and I actually even like it - even his surgery is considerate, ensuring that haven't been left with a hideous great scar that leaves a painful reminder but is an unbelievably straight line that is fading so quickly it is beyond belief. Mr Shafi will hold your hand guiding you through what can be an extremely emotional time - I feel indebted to him for the care that I received. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Be careful seeing Dr ShafiHe will take your money but not take your symptoms seriously. I went to see him. He said I was fine but actually I had a 12cm ovarian cyst. I had to have an operation risking my fertility at the age of 31. Don't trust your first opinion seek other advise.

Cancer is a life changing diagnosis and you hope for a team with the expertise, experience and skill you need but also for people with a personal approach including understanding and sensitivity. Mr Shafi and his team at Cambridge responded instantly to any concerns I had, they were always there for support and provided an excellent level of care whilst I was in Cambridge Gynaecology Centre. My family and I could not recommend Mr Shafi, his team and this hospital highly enough.

I cannot recommend Mr Shafi enough. I was able to get an appointment within a week and the procedure I needed was done during that first consultation. One week later I had the results and a follow up appointment date. His secretary Steph is friendly and efficient and put my mind at ease from the first phone call. Mr Shafi himself is calm and treated me like a real person. I felt so safe in his care. 100% recommend.

If anyone had described Mr Shafi to me before my surgery, I would have said he sounds too good to be true. The surgery went perfectly well and Mr Shafi’s skill, care and humanity was evident throughout. Knowing I was looked after by such a charismatic scientist was a blessing. I cannot stress enough my appreciation for the exceptional level of care I received and my gratitude for taking time to explain, talk and reassure. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
