Meco Homes installed solar panels and a battery on our new house. Costs were competitive and lead times better than other providers. Installation went without hitch, and they even resolved a few issues with roofing that wasn't outside of their remit. Recommend Danny and Dimitar.

Meco Homes installed an ASHP at our renovated house over a year ago - the team were very flexible and accommodating of moving timelines. Danny found a suitable ASHP for our budget, which has been working very well for the past year - including last winter! I would highly recommend Meco if you were looking for a heat pump installer.

Meco Homes installed eight solar panels, a battery and immersion boost. They were quick and efficient. Good to deal with. The system is good.

Meco Homes installed solar panels on to our roof, they were really professional in the design process and installation and a fun bunch of guys to work with. They also made the whole process really stress free. This was probably because we did have to make a lot of tea over the two days!I would defiantly recommend them to my friends.

We chose Meco Homes to install the solar panels in our school. The whole team is very friendly and always showing a professional attitude. Every time I had to contact them by phone or e-mail, always came back to me and assist us with our requests, before and after completion of the installation. We definitely recommend Meco Homes!Sofia KapouraniBusiness ManagerCountess Anne Primary SchoolHatfield

Meco Homes installed a air source heat pump to our house a few weeks ago and are very happy with it. We haven’t used the heating side of the heat pump yet due to the weather, but the hot water works really well. The installers (Alistair & Cassie) were really professional, tidy and explained how the system worked well. I would certainly recommend Meco Homes to my friends, family and neighbours.

After 13 years our solar panels (installed by a company now out of business) stopped working. Danny and his team were really responsive and helpful investigating the issue, servicing the panels and getting the system back up and running. Would recommend to anyone who asks.

Sadly, we haven't had a good experience with the design and installation of our Vaillant AroThermo ASHP by Meco Homes. I have given Danny 6 months and ample opportunities to explain queries, and also requested information which I should have been provided during the handover, as per the MSC checklist. The heat pump is working but not running as designed i.e. not achieving the SCOP and the designed temp in the house. As Danny and his team members seemed to be lacking expertise we have had both Vaillant, and a separate heat engineer reviewing the system. Vaillant do not endorse the way it has been installed and Danny hasn't provided the schematics that they have used, so we are unsure where it is coming from. There is an additional pump which I have questioned from the start but Meco Homes has given vague and inconsistent answers to why it is there. After I contracted a specialist heat pump engineer to review everything I outlined the findings together with clear actions on what we need to progress to Danny, I gave Danny 10 days to respond, with MSC on copy. I would have written this review 6 months ago when I noticed they had another bad review on an ASHP install, however I believe everyone deserve a chance to rectify and make amends. Disappointingly Danny chose to not respond at all. Therefore, I didn't have any other option than to submit a complaint via MCS to Meco Homes' certification body. It is a shame, there is so much potential for ASHP in the UK, however cowboys like Danny and his team are giving them a bad rep. I now believe Meco Homes only see it as a money making opportunity due to the BUS scheme and have no idea how to design and install ASHPs. I even suggested that they need to take a course, or was hoping they would eventually employ someone that knows what they are doing, until that day I can only hope they will move away from ASHP and stick to what they are actually good at. Do not use Danny and his team for ASHP. My advice is to make sure your installer is Heat Geek Verified or Elite and ensure the install go through the Heat Geek Assured Scheme. Meco Homes was on the map when I chose them but they no longer are, that in itself speaks volumes…Edit: If you are sorry please respond to the official complaint and provide the outstanding answers and documentation. Our house was a building site so it was the perfect opportunity for you to design from scratch and get it right. You didn't work with our builder to link up the UFH and rads. I reminded you several times on the insulation and I am still not sure the heat loss report is correct as I have 13 (!) versions of it... There is one less radiator, and again the builders were willing to refit, or even change the size of the radiators but you are not confirming how you got to the heat emitter calculations. You are simply adding 20% on top of the heat loss, which is not correct. The heat output should be matching the heat loss of the rooms. This is the first I heard that the TRVs are wrong. Which in itself is a statement that doesn't make sense. The TRV should be left fully open when you have a HP as weather comp sorts out the temp. The decrease of 2 degree difference was something I sorted out after researching and educating myself due to the inconsistent advice from you and your team. The Vaillant engineer didn't complete the visit as he didn't have access, as you know.SCOP is not something the clients set. You have designed a system at a certain temp and with that temp and set up I should be able to achieve the SCOP you have outlined in the contract. I still haven't been able to achieve this so there is something not right with either the design or install, or both.MCS initially tried to mediate and encouraged you to respond to my queries, which you still haven't, so then they encouraged me to submit my formal complaint, which I now have, to you certification body.If you believe you have sent me the schematics, please resend it rather than ignoring my request for it as I cannot find it in any of our communication.
