Reed Pond

Considering the significant history of this site as well as the close proximity to the AONB I was surprised (a tad depressed) to see so much litter including countless broken glass and beer bottles strewn about the water and surrounding woodland. Me and my dog were also nearly knocked off the path by a group of youths on mopeds / dirt bikes (are they permitted there!?) the noise pollution and litter really let the experience down. I’ll stick to nearby Fordwich town / village which boasts a beautiful water ways.

If you want somewhere to fish for free this pond seems to be it. I don't know what the rules are but I'm told there are some fairly large fish in there. There are definitely tench and roach. There's a pathway around the pond which has pathways off but I don't know where they go. It used to be m.o.d land. There are very often lads riding motorbikes here and it's a popular dog walking route.
