Orchard House Nursing Home

I am genuinely taken aback to uncover that HOC Nahid lacks fundamental qualifications ( NVQ4, NVQ 5 ). The indispensable criteria for employment in the care sector are NVQ 2 or 3, yet she holds the position of HOC without possessing either of these qualifications. I feel a sense of embarrassment as I once worked as a nurse under her leadership. It astonishes me that Ruth (the home manager), who is herself a nurse, appears to overlook the significance of qualifications. These actions appear to contravene the Institutional Abuse Act of 2019 and the Equality Act of 2010. I hold the belief that families who have entrusted this care home with their loved ones should engage in conversations with the management. I earnestly hope that Ruth will be scrutinized by the CQC at the earliest opportunity. I am compelled to withhold even the slightest commendation, giving rise to a rating of -10. The manner in which HOC treats both residents and staff is disconcerting. I extend an invitation to all staff members to voice their truths.

I have been a Care Assistant since 2001. Orchard House has since given me the opportunity to work my way up as a Senior Care Assistant. They have supported me a great deal, by giving me training, moral support and guidance. My managers Ruth and Anita are always forthcoming and encouraging. It is a pleasure to be a part of this amazing team, and that I am able to give great input. My workplace has helped and supported me all the way through, reason why I now am completing my BN (Hons) Nursing Degree. I want to thank them all for being such a great support system and providing me the training I need to deliver the right person-centred care needed.

I am an overseas nurse from Ghana, sponsored by Orchard House. I have received great support from the management. They helped me settle in well, provided countless trainings to equip me in my work. Really nice and supportive colleagues. It feels great to be part of Orchard House and management has never made me feel like a foreigner.

Under no circumstances let your loved ones go here, terrible how they have treated my mother. No stars (but had to pick one to post) and the placed need to shut down

This home is absolutely appalling, please do not send any of your loved ones here. Care homes/nursing homes are supposed to treat their residents with dignity, respect and compassion NOT like animals. This home needs to be thoroughly investigated by the CQC and in my opinion closed down. Absolutely shocking they should be ashamed of theirselves.
