Stayed at the campsite for a Yoga Retreat. What a beautiful campsite this is. Jill is so welcoming and lovely that you feel part of the family on your arrival and her cooking is amazing. Still fascinated with the self composting toilet and eco shower but how brilliant to re-use everything possible and make into wonderful seating, showers and toilets! It's so natural that you are visually treated to lots of wildlife like beautiful butterflies and dragonflies. Highly recommend

Excellent campsite on a yoga retreat. Gill couldn't have been more welcoming and cooked lovely food. The campsite is eco-based and has a composting toilet and solar showers. Quirky, individual and relaxing.

Lovely friendly relaxed eco campsite with great facilities in a beautiful setting. We saw the milky way (for the first time in many years) and a shooting star! We attended for a yoga retreat and will definitely return. Gill and Mal are incredibly helpful and welcoming.

What a gorgeous eco-campsite, with facilities made from recycled materials and put together with love by Gill and Mel. Absolutely loved our long weekend, stargazing and chatting by the fire, local walks and spotting the local steam trains! The campsite has everything you'd need from composting toilets, showers, outdoor kitchen etc. Came for a yoga retreat but would love to stay here again for another peaceful escape.

A pretty and quaint camping experience that can't be missed. I wasn't quite expecting the full econess of the site with the field camp kitchen, outhouse and military showers. But it was a delight to stay simply, enjoying the beautiful views, unpolluted skies and wonderful company on a yoga retreat. We all cozied up by the fire pit for heart-warming conversation after delicious local food prepared by Gill. We retired for a comfortable night in the newly renovated Shepherds Hut. A truly memory making experience.

Had a fabulous stay at Gill’s campsite. Such a lovely venue for a yoga retreat too! Wonderful campsite, bell tent, caravans, compost loo. A wonderful central camp kitchen area and a central seating area for campfire communal drinks and social activities. Highly recommended!

I stayed at the site for a yoga retreat and fell in love with it. It’s a beautiful site with delightful accommodation. I stayed in the wagon, which was delightfully cosy, and before leaving I had a nose at the caravans and bell tent, which were equally charming. The whole site is environmentally conscious, with compost toilets and solar-heated showers. There’s a very well equipped, covered kitchen area too. The slight drawback of the solar heated water is that with the vagaries of the British summer, if there’s no sun, there’s also no hot water, but it really wasn’t a big issue on a short break. All of the outdoor furniture is skilfully up-cycled or made from salvaged materials.Best of all was the warm welcome we received. Gill and her husband Mel were there to greet us and made sure we were very well looked after throughout. They couple have clearly put so much love into building their campsite and it really shows.I will definitely be back just as soon as I can.
