Absolutely amazing team that looked after my cat when he was severely ill.The receptionist was incredibly kind and patient when I first went in, and explained what was going to happen. The vet, Sarah, who did the entry consultation with me explained exactly what they were doing and what to expect. She took a detailed history of my pet, and answered any questions I had.My cat was with them for about 10 days and they gave at least daily updates on how my let was doing and gave me options, with advice on each option to consider. They were mindful of costs and keep me updated on what the current costs were and what the cost of future treatment options would be.The after care was amazing and the hand over to both myself and the local vets was first class.

My recent experience with Lumbry Park Veterinary Specialists necessitates a candid review, especially for pet owners facing similar urgencies. My dog required an urgent referral for suspected cancer, yet the process was marred by delays attributed to a 'system error', with the only follow-up being two phone calls over the course of several weeks without any subsequent emails or traceable messages to confirm urgent care. The pricing at Lumbry Park is notably higher compared to other veterinary services. For those seeking specialist care, I recommend considering Animal Trust for their clear, transparent pricing and charitable status, emphasizing care over profit. The recommendation for additional scans at Lumbry Park seemed excessive, rapidly depleting a £4,000 insurance cover just for diagnostic procedures, not to mention the quoted £3,500 for chemotherapy. This experience feels emblematic of a larger issue within CVS practices, hinting at a potential price fixing problem.Addressing my concerns over the proposed timeline for treatment, which incongruously exceeded my dog's predicted survival without it, I was met with vague justifications. The lack of clear pricing became a recurring theme; discussions around costs were evasive, with claims that it's challenging to provide accurate estimates, despite assertions of fair pricing. There's a discernible disconnect between the said complexity of cost estimations and the reality of modern, automated systems that could offer a transparent cost breakdown. The resort to 'variables' as a defense underestimates the client's ability to understand the costs involved in veterinary care.I have since sought care from a different vet who has offered a promising path forward for my dog's treatment. The contrasting approach in service and pricing has only solidified my belief in the need for greater transparency and urgency in pet healthcare. For those referred to Lumbry Park, I advise vigilance and encourage seeking second opinions to ensure your beloved pet receives timely and fair treatment.

I can not recommend Lumbry Park enough. Our vet referred our 10 month old kitten Loki to Lumbry Park after he started to lose function in his legs. The receptionist was amazing and booked us in for a consultation with Lorna the next morning. Lorna was incredible and looked after our Loki at the hospital so well and found out he had Polyneuropathy. I was constantly kept up to date and even when he was discharged I had weekly phone calls with Lorna during his recovery. He is now completely recovered and back to running & jumping around with our dog! Thank you so much Lumbry Park!

Very competent vets (was seen by Dr Francisca Couto), my dog who had seizures was rapidly seen and suitable treatment was found quickly, after 2 months being pushed around by local vets. They dealt with the insurance claim themselves and agreed to a payment plan for the excess. Strongly recommend them!

Although my story does not have a happy ending I would just like to say how grateful I am for all the hard work and care Xavier and the team put in to try and save my sweet girl. Unfortunately despite everyones best efforts she was extremely poorly and the disease had spread too quickly and too aggressively for her to survive treatment. Xavier was patient, attentive and caring about my situation and I just know my girl was in good hands. Cannot fault Lumbry Park at all and I am thankful for all they did.R.I.P Helga x

I collected Boris from Lumbry Park yesterday after his short stay to repair a fracture in his elbow. Fantastic service, I was kept up to date with everything going on, even receiving a phone call on the morning of his surgery to let me know how Boris was getting on. Can totally recommend Lumbry Park, nothing was too much trouble and everybody was so kind, especially as our insurance claim was able to be paid direct to them instead of me having to try to find the money first, they took all the worry out of a very stressful situation

Would not recommend. We were treated so poorly during our consultation that we decided to use a different veterinary hospital instead (which was great). They apologised for the poor service, and gave the impression they would not charge us due to the issues. After a month they had billed our insurance for the consultation without telling us, and started chasing us for the admin fee for that claim.

I have only given a one star as a 0 was not an option. After a short sudden illness, our dog was referred to Lumbry Park, where he was sadly put to sleep.Very soon after our dog’s passing we were hounded by Lumbry Park for payment. I had sent their invoice and initiated the claim with our insurance company, Petplan. Petplan had agreed to pay and tried to contact Lumbry Park on three separate occasions. Lumbry Park would not communicate with Petplan or let them pay the bill. Instead they bombarded us with letters and emails demanding money, and threats of passing our details onto debt collection agencies. Lumbry Park stated that they would only communicate with Petplan if we paid them a £25 admin fee. Absolutely outrageous after I had completed all the admin myself and Petplan were waiting to give them the invoice in full!To top off the already horrendous experience, I was spoken to on the telephone like I was stupid. Please be very wary of taking your pet here. Before we left this review we wrote to Lumbry Park to ask for justifications for their actions and they did not have the courtesy to reply.Lumbry Park is a business all about making money. Animal welfare and grieving families are not their priority.

Cannot stress enough how excellent this hospital is... from the reception staff to nursing and veterinary teams. Out GSD skye fell extremely sick whilst we were stuck out in India for my wedding, and was left with a trainer, who sadly neglected her. The initial vets (who were also amazing with their initial resuscitation) gave her a 10% chance of survival. We opted to try treating her by admitting her at Lumbry. From the get go, they were incredible with their communication, given the difficulty with telephone calls etc being in a different country. They updated me several times daily with very comprehensive details. Their care was second to none, and I can honestly say their team is the reason we were able to come back home to skye being fit and healthy again. It's a horror situation when your pet falls ill, but I would highly recommend this pet hospital and the team to provide your pet with exemplary and diligent care. Their efforts to ensure a smooth transition after discharge and provide free advice and medical recommendations even at this point were incredibly appreciated. The fees are not cheap, but private health care never is, and you truly get what you pay for with Lumbry Park.
