Alexander & Dry Funeral Directors

My parents had funeral plans with dignity. Having contacted Alexander and Dry to organise my father's funeral I was familiar with the procedure. Sadly my mum passed away in 2022. Alexander and Dry made the entire process so much easier. Jo was super helpful. She collected mum's body with a colleague and she was my contact throughout the entire process. We had a beautiful coffin for my mum covered in painted violet flowers. It was very pretty and suited mum's personality. The funeral itself was lovely and everything ran smoothly. I was very happy with Alexander and Dry, I thought their costs were reasonable and the service was friendly and helpful.

Couldn't have asked for a better funeral place than Alexander and dry . Jo and the team. helped me through my father's funeral 6 months ago December 2021and my partners funeral may 2022. They were absolutely amazing from start to finish. I'm extremely grateful everything they done to help me through these difficult times

I wish I'd gone somewhere else! Bad service received. Supposed to be dignity service. No communication and if you specifically request anything it will not be done! Was told 3 - 4 days for collection of ashes, it actually took 7 days. Again with no communication. Will not recommend

Very professional and friendly service. We have used Alexander and Dry on two occasions and each time they have been thorough and efficient, guiding us through the process and patiently answering all our questions. Jo, in particular was very knowledgeable and helpful. Her attention to detail and calm manner were a great comfort during a difficult time.

Losing my wife was the worst moment of my life.Everyone around me was sympathetic and those that had been in a similar situation had their own opinion as to whom I should use for the final arrangements.I have been aware of Alexander and Dry for many years, having passed their offices regularly so I chose to trust them with my Wife.When I spoke to one of your staff she asked if there was anything specific I wanted for the service.Fortunately my wife and I had casually discussed our respective funerals over the years. she was able to make those ideas a reality. I was pleased at the level of control I had, the layout of the Order of service, the music and even the horse drawn carriage my late wife had dreamt of.At every stage she was able to advise and assist without ever once sounding like a salesperson.Obviously there is nothing I can offer by way of comparison, as this is the only time I have ever used a Funeral Director’s services but I can genuinely say that the service provided couldn’t have been bettered.Thank you.

I was recommended Alexander & Dry by my aunt as they have arranged the funeral of my nan. On my dad passing I had no idea what was involved with planning a funeral, and thought it would be a challenging experience. They were extremely helpful with all aspects of the service, and they made the whole experience so much less stressful and all the planning went smoothly. I cannot thank them enough for the way they dealt with everything and made sure i was ok.

Have to say that so far the service received has been fantastic. Living in Australia and video calling in with Alexander & Dry and my sister to work through funeral arrangements was very helpful. To be able to be a real part of the arrangements for my mother and help see and choose things via video was very much appreciated.

Viewing my Brother at their Chapel of Rest was an emotional experience, We were greeted by Janet who led us through to see him. Janet was very respectful towards us and we felt unhurried in paying our last respects to our loved one. The funeral was carried out with the most professional precision. Nothing was to much trouble. If only all funeral directors could act with such consideration towards our grieving family.Update June 2020, Another family funeral and of course we turned to Alexander and Dry for their professional services. Due to covid 19, social distancing and limited number of mourners to twenty. The Crematorium supplied a live streaming of the service for those family members who were unable to attend. This was undoubtedly the best service that was available and went down well with the family that were home but still participating. A dvd copy of the service was available from the streaming service suppliers but proved too expensive so we declined the offer. We as a family very much appreciate the service received from Alexandra & Dry and due to an ageing family we will unfortunately require their services again and will call on them again when the time comeswithout hesitation.
