We enjoyed to visit the hotel. On the arrival Sheila and Claire were very welcoming, professional and quick on check-in and check-out. Zowie, Asha and Irene at the bar were very kind and helpful. The leisure facilities are a good add to the hotel. Kelly and Chris were very nice and attentive. We really enjoy the jacuzzi and the swimming pool area.At night we needed help with the room keys, Lee and Troy were very helpful and pleasant. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all the team for the support.

Me and my daughter recently had the pleasure of staying at Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel during our trip for a fencing tournament at Bolton Arena . Our experience was nothing short of excellent! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The hotel itself exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and impeccably clean. The comfortable beds ensured a restful night's sleep, and the bathroom amenities provided were top-notch. We particularly loved the breathtaking views from our room, which added an extra touch of luxury to our stay. One of the standout features of this hotel is its outstanding customer service. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, providing us with helpful recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. They were always ready to assist with any requests we had, and their genuine hospitality made us feel valued and appreciated. The hotel's facilities were also excellent. The fitness center was well-equipped, allowing us to maintain our workout routine even while traveling. The pool area was clean and inviting, providing a refreshing break from our busy days of exploring the city.Overall, we had an amazing stay at Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel. The combination of exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and convenient location made it a perfect choice for our trip. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bolton, United Kingdom, and we look forward to returning in the future.

We stayed for 2 nights while visiting Bolton. Our large room was slightly tired but very clean with a comfortable bed. We had a slight problem with the bathroom shower, but it was quickly fixed by the maintenance team. The public rooms were extremely clean and well appointed. We used the swimming pool twice and as it opened at 0630, that was a bonus. The food was good, particulary the breakfast buffet where there were plenty of choices of good quality food and , when items were starting to run low, the staff quickly replenished them. All the staff we met were polite, professional and keen to help us. We particularly liked the way the hotel is integrated into the local community with sports facilities for the young, and especially how the hotel supports the local guide dog for the blind charity, acting as an accommodation hub for those who are learning to manage new guide dogs. All round it is a good hotel and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

Warm and friendly staff who seemed to work long hours and still manage a smile. Special thanks to Lydia and Meg who made our breakfast despite us being so close to the cut off time as we hadn't read the timings properly! The gym, communal areas and the bathrooms are in need of some modernisation as a little dated but everywhere very clean regardless.

Really good hotel but a little dated in areas. We had a privilege room and it has a comfy king size bed and a separate seating area with 2 bucket chairs and a 2 seater sofa. Special shout out to Irene who looked after us in the bar when we arrived.

I knew before I booked that there were mixed reviews. For the 3 aspects that influenced my booking (bath and shower, room with twin beds and a decent breakfast) I would rate as Very Good. Ample free parking is also a great plus point. The friendliness of the lovely lady at reception, the cleaning operatives and the breakfast team was also a real bonus. Now for the things that detract from the excellent staff and the good facilities....The entrance road is not very well lit so we missed the turn off. We reported that one of the bulbs needed replacing in the light above one of the beds: apparently maintenance have to change lightbulbs and they are only there Mon-Friday 9-5. There were a lot of dead flies on the windowsill and I spotted two live ones that I dealt with. I managed to locate and block off the source of the flies (a gap in the wall behind the headboard) so didn't bother reporting. On the Friday night there was a Christmas Party night. I would have been OK if it hadn't gone on until 1am which seems very late to put up with loud music. I would go back but I would know in future to ask if they have any function bookings and what time the music will stop. The pool area is very dated and quite creepy - if there hadn't been some kids having swimming lessons I doubt I would have hung around! And finally on the Saturday night there was two busloads of very anti-social children rampaging through the hotel (playing football in the corridors). They were so noisy I couldn't read in the bath so bailed out and rang reception. When nothing happened I got dressed and as I was walking up the corridor to ask the children to stop being a nuisance two responsible" adults turned up. I'm saying nothing further but there needs to be some ground rules set for large groups of under 16 year olds."

A really nice stay. Friendly staff and a wonderful swimming pool. My room was spacious and clean with a view of the West Pennines. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide choice of food and great service from Lydia. Thanks to everyone!

A group of 4 of us were staying as competitors at the English Nationals pickleball championship at the Arena nearby. The receptionist was polite but purely transactional on taking payment. We asked about breakfast cost and times. Nothing forthcoming on hotel spa facilities, room location, additional keys, evening meals, hotel functions etc.The room was basic, clean and functional but the beds were awful with the springs easily felt through the mattress material. Not a great night's sleep before a competition. One of the rooms had no cold running water in the sink but with no weekend maintenance available, the bath tap was the only option.I enjoyed a full breakfast on the second day with a good selection of cold and well cooked hot food on offer. The cooked breakfast on day one was a mixture of undercooked fried eggs, hash browns and raw bacon or overcooked sausages and black pudding. It would have been much more convenient if the pool and spa opened early in order to make use before enjoying breakfast and still get out for the day. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room were great for a quick relax. Lovely to see the pool being used for swimming lessons for little ones. Unfortunately only separate gender saunas were available as located in the changing rooms.Overall, an average experience in terms of value for money for comfort, food, facilities and location by way of a 20 min walk/5 min drive to the arena complex. It wouldn't be 1st choice for a return visit, but I wouldn't rule it out.

I stayed here for one night. The room was as expected for the price, no complaints and all the usual amenities were included. The breakfast in the morning was above expectations in terms of quality and variety. I was pleasantly surprised to see proper back bacon. The chef also came and introduced herself. She was very welcoming, as was all the staff. Overall my stay was a pleasant one I would stay here again.
