I can’t recommend Joy enough. I did the 3 day course and we learnt so much. Everyday went so quickly, I didn’t want it to end! It was relaxing and intense all at the same time. A great way to spend a weekend. I started on the Friday feeling a little anxious having no knowledge of Afro hair but I left feeling confident in what I am doing. Thank you Joy!

Having no professional qualifications I wanted to learn more about Afro and textured hair care as well as styling for my children who are mixed race.I am truly grateful to Joy for allowing me to attend a course with professionals whose input added to the learning. I had the pleasure of attending a 3 Day Textured Hair Course, Joy is an amazing teacher, her teaching style makes you feel like it’s a one to one session. Joy has patience in abundance, and she is so generous with her vast knowledge. I am left handed and sometimes struggle following demonstrations, but Joy was able to recommend ways of holding and adding hair to braids, which made braiding easier.I learned so much on the course, and not only that, the aftercare Joy offers is second to none, if I have ever needed help, advice or guidance Joy has always responded with great information.I genuinely, cannot recommend this course enough, Joy’s teaching style, and her knowledge is invaluable.

I attended a 3 day masterclass, two days based around afro and textured hair and the final day on ethnic makeup. I learnt so much over the course 3 days and would highly recommend the Afro Hair Academy. Joy is an amazing teacher. Will definitely be doing further traning in the future with joy.
