Nice & New Carpets & Flooring

Great service and advice they made us feel comfortable. We learnt more about what we wanted and the right carpet for the right area of the home. They were not pushy into buy now but we left knowing which carpet we want to buy.

The reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the lack of communication in the office. I paid a £300 deposit and was told I'd be posted a receipt. This never came. I called the shop on 5 different occasions and spoke to Holly who was useless. I eventually received a receipt 7 weeks after payment. I had no confirmation of the time the carpet fitters were coming. When the fitters did arrive they hadn't been given any measurements but the office! Clearly very disorganised office staff. However Steve and Hagi (I think) were amazing and fitted the carpet superbly. The carpet is of very high quality and I'm very pleased with it... I would rate the carpet 5*

Why a one star review I hear you ask? Id like to start by saying that the estimator who came out to measure up six rooms for carpet and laminate was lovely, very helpful and informative. However I cant say the same for anyone else. We placed an order initially to test the company for two carpets, underlay, gripper rods and fitting. We contacted N&N to pay our deposit and book the fitting, upto this point it was okay, however once they got our money that’s when it went downhill. The carpet fitters turned up late on the day of fitting with the carpet bent over the roof of their van, not covered or protected and had driven nearly an hour to get to me. We were informed that they couldn’t fit the gripper rods and would therefore glue the underlay to the floor and then glue the carpet to that. After much deliberation I was guaranteed that the fit would be perfect and the carpet would be tight. However as soon as they had finished it was clear it wasn’t tight at all and had been poorly fitted, plus they hadn’t bagged any rubbish up and left it everywhere. For two months we tried to get N&N to refit being given excuse after excuse and getting no where eventually a fitter came out who said he couldn’t do the job as he didn’t have gripper rod with him (at this point im wondering who was the gripper I paid for). Another week passes and we wait in twice for the fitter to come back which he never does. Everytime we called Nice and New they said theyd look into it and get back to us which they never did. I finally rang up and asked for a full refund, of which I was told by the director of the company Nadeem Akbar (who is also a director of, Carpet Stop, Carpet Remnant Stop plus other current and failed carpet shops) that if I wanted a refund I would have to sue, otherwise they would refit when it was convenient for them. The customer service at Nice and New and Carpet Stop is absolutely appalling, it’s a shame as I was going to order four more rooms from them but now I will be staying well clear. If I were you I would stay well clear, if you do decide to try them, pay on credit card so you have some way of getting money back as from our experience theyre cowboys who want nothing more you’re your money.

My friend purchased a stair carpet 6 months ago. On recommendation of of the sales assistant, Sarah, I bought what I thought was a hard wearing carpet for the stairs. After 4 months, the carpet started bobbling and losing shape. I spoke to Sarah and Holly and they said someone would come out to look at it. After waiting patiently, Sarah eventually arrived to inspect the carpet. She agreed that it was ill-fitted and took photos of the carpet. She told me she needed to speak to Head Office, but the person she needed to speak to was on holiday. I've recently discovered it doesn't exist. I waited for someone to contact me, to no avail. I've had to constantly telephone them, without any joy. I spoke to the shop assistant and the outcome was that my dog was responsible, which is nonsense. The customer service is appalling, they accuse you of being aggressive, when it's the staff who are aggressive to you. Please, please do not waste your money buying anything from this company, if you do , be prepared for the substandard quality they sell. I've spoken to trading standards and they say I have a case against them.Rose Jeffreys

From showroom to home the experience has all been very easy. Salesman was very helpful when choosing the right carpet for my two staircases even though I have unique tastes and of course a budget to stick to! Then from measuring and fitting the team were very communicative and efficient! Would highly recommend.

I ordered my wilton carpet from Ebay but before i placed my order i wanted to check the quality of the carpet. Gemma from the company, not only sent me the sample i requested but she also sent 4 others in the same range. I liked having the choice and there was another sample which i hadn't considered. I made my decision and they delivered the carpet. The delivery guy was brilliant, he bought the carpet into entrance of my home, even though thats not a part of the service Fantastic carpet and brilliant service. The people definitely make this company. I would definitely buy again.

Very pleased with the service received. Moved to Derby so needed new carpets and vinyl. Wasn't sure which type of carpet to go for, but was impressed with the knowledge the sales person had in the shop. Selected a free fitting which saved me loads of money. Had taken quotes from other stores in derby but to get free fitting I would have to buy underlay (which I didn't need, as already down). House was measured free and was given quote same day. Saved almost £300 and a better quality carpet and vinyl. Fitting was fantastic, fitters were extremely friendly and got down to business. Worked incredibly fast and finished within 3-4 hours. They cleared all the bits of carpets etc.There was a small carpet piece left, which the fitters cut and took to get edged (which I got within a few days). Very impressed with the entire process. Will definitely recommend to everyone. The sales staff knows their products very well. If like me not sure on type of flooring to have, I would go here.

Just had carpet for my home fitted, great service and price. Couldn't be more happy with the carpet. From beginning to end, the lady who came out to measure the house and the person fitted the carpet. Very friendly, polite and helpful. Have recommended this company to family and friends. Would definitely use them again.

Having recently moved in to the area, we were looking for someone that supplied and fitted carpets at a reasonable price. This shop ticked all the boxes. They came out to measure as well as fit the carpets at a very competitive price. They have a large selection of carpets in the store to choose from.Staff were very friendly I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.
