I have brought numerous gifts watches and other jewellery from Michael Matthew’s over the last twenty or so years, even though i live in London yesterday i needed a present for my wife and called the shop spoke to Matt and as usual he went out of his way to help the watch arrived in the post today perfect as promised and a thousand pounds cheaper then the nearest dealers for the same watch I rarely do reviews but good service and great experiences should be rewarded I highly recommend Michael Matthew’s thanks again MattRegardsMatt HardySkyglaze Ltd

Ordered a watch strap for a old Rotary, special order but came in quickly. Proper service. Although my item was small value, they hooked me into using them again for other pieces because they appreciate the business. Friendly and charming to deal with.

Staff and Owner playing games when I purchased multiple watches. An example was taking a ladies watch off the market as soon as I showed interest. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

Have used them to restring a pearl necklace in the past, needed earrings for birthday present. The staff were friendly & helpful, did not rush us through the sale

Enquired about a Rolex to sell on their website. Received a phone call the next day requesting pictures from their Bournemouth branch. Sent immediately. After a while, they’re estimating about £1000 for a £3600 watch - Not too problematic. Guy who emailed said to leave it with him overnight to speak to the owner to clarify. Next day, another person emails and confirms the estimate is about right (and has spoken to the owner) but they need to see it. I reply to the email that I’ll head in to their Fareham branch if that’s alright with them (still no contact from the Bournemouth branch a day later after visiting). Went anyway to Fareham anyway. Turns out, they didn’t want the Rolex after all (again fine and everyone has been really nice) and said you’d be looking at £1200 with them and advised to sell privately.Everyone has been really pleasant but getting mixed messages and emails from different individuals in the hopes of selling a watch to no avail is a bit of a downer.For me, I’d rather more communication and transparency.

Have been going to Mathews for around 9 years. They are a very professional jewellers and offer a range of services including repairs, pre owned watches like Rolex. Definitely worth a visit.

Took my watch in to have the battery changed, straight after it started losing 20 minutes a day.I've had the watch for 12 years and it was a perfect time keeper.Returned the watch to the store a week after and was told, the battery is fine and changing it can highlight a problem with the watch.Well there was no problem with my beautiful watch until you got your hands on it.

I had been walking over Fareham mall asking at every jewellers how much it would cost to fix a thin silver necklace and shorten another - the other shops charged £35-40 for one necklace! Michael Matthews then offered it at £17.50 per necklace - and that is much more affordable! Good value for money and doesn't commit extortion like all the other jewellers do! Friendly customer service and a return of my necklaces within a week - excellent company, excellent staff - good value for money - can highly recommend! Thank you!"
