Foulds Music

Top music shop around for all types of musical equipment. Over the years I have bought most of my equipment from here, and if I wanted any advice they would give it without questioning your ability or age. Atmosphere in the shop is relaxed and comfortable, easy enough to try out many instruments especially the guitars. However they can be a little pricey but I know they are on the high street

Walked in with the sole intention of buying a beginner's guitar, got the right guitar with the right amount of service you'd hope for, when knowing nothing. Friendly and helpful staff, lots of choice and alot of accessories and reading material you'd expect. Great visit, will definitely be returning

Went to the shop today as it said it was open. I was looking forward to browsing some piano music. However, it was shut. After travelling for 50 minutes specifically to go there I was less than impressed.This shop used to be fantastic and invaluable for a music teacher like me. Great selection of music, instruments and excellent help and advice.It is always the same when shops are taken over by someone else: A quick glissando downwards!!

I emailed via the website about hiring a piano. The owner of the business (Miller’s) called me back and proceeded to tell me for 20 minutes how they can do this service for me no problem; saying he’ll be in touch within the next week. Never heard back, so followed up with another email to customer service the other day. I get a stock reply (possibly semi-automated) not answering any of my queries. I emailed back again to get them to clarify and actually answer my queries, and I’ve not even received a reply.So after making contact THREE times, with a multitude of differing replies and no rental piano resulting, I think I’ll look elsewhere.

Massive fan of Foulds. I've been using them since I was a kid and the range of instruments available for rental or to buy is great. Staff are always very knowledgeable, polite and helpful and they have a great range of musical sundries and manuscripts. I've never used them for a guitar service but on my last visit I watched one of the staff fitting new strings and he took amazing care, oiling the neck and paying good attention to detail. To top it off they have a beautiful looking shop on Irongate which gives a nice luxury feel to the whole experience.

Despite all the recent changes we received the expected good service and attention from Max when seeking out help and advice as to the best keyboard for my grandson as he prepares to go to uni. Having taken time to ' lunch and ponder' on the options we inevitably returned to make a purchase. Have always appreciated the 'Foulds' experience in the past and only hope this will continue under the new ownership.

Have purchased several guitars from Foulds over the years and always great service and price. The guys are very knowledgeable and take an interest and there is a private room in the back for those like me who aren't confident trying out guitars in public. Great place!

Went to buy a new ukulele, guitar strings and a couple of new pegs for my acoustic guitar. All the staff had a smile for me and the guy who served me was very patient, knowledgeable and friendly. Literally couldn't do enough to help me out. Went upstairs to look at guitars and Andy Gatford from the Beyond was just casually giving guitar lessons. Such a lovely atmosphere and everything you could want or need in a music shop... And Beyond.. pun intended

We are looking to replace a very old digital piano and came to Foulds for advice and to have a 'play' to do some research of what is available. The advice and customer service we received made it well-worth the journey from Nottingham.Danny was really helpful and knowledgeable about the keyboards and pianos available and managed to answer my numerous questions; her passion for her subject was evident and almost infectious.She was also really friendly and approachable and listened to my daughter's questions seriously and gave really good, helpful and practical advice to guide us in our decisions.We did not purchase anything today, but will be back when we are ready to purchase.Customer service as it should be!

Went in to test some guitars/bass and got straight into the action. these guys are awesome, super friendly and really know their stuff. Big shout to Rich for helping out and shredding some sweet tunes lol!Cheers guys, great service!
