Starting with positives, the bed was comfortable, allowing for a good night's rest. The complimentary biscuits were delightful, and breakfast was delicious, with a pleasant view.Turning to the negatives, the evening staff's lack of warmth was understandable due to apparent understaffing. Only two staff members managed both the pub and inn.The rooms were not very clean, with noticeable hair and stains on beds and in the bathroom. Fixtures were worn and unclean. Morning showers were a challenge due to the lack of hot water, suggesting nighttime showers.Disappointingly, our pub experience fell short. Despite booking, our table wasn't reserved. We ordered mac and cheese for kids but were served tomato pasta without alternatives. And the staff didn’t tell us there was a drink included until we found out afterwards. The pasta smelled and tasted off, and staff denied the issue.

We had a wonderful meal for 6 of us. 4 adults, 2 children. We had starters, lovely. Mains, fantastic. Dessert for 3, coffee for 1 and a few wines by the adults. Lovely. The staff were great, friendly and attentive, but not overly. A great night.

What an absolute disgrace. The room hadn’t been cleaned. Had to change 3 times. Rooms are terrible and you can feel all the springs in the mattress. You would get a better sleep on a gravel car park. Rooms stink and are freezing. Then you pay over the top for food. The salad you get is nice and brown instead of being green. It’s only about about 10 days old. £54.89 is a rip off for the state of the food. Avoid the hotel and the food

Awful place, in fact the worse I’ve ever stayed in. On arrival the staff couldn’t tell us when our room was going to be ready, also couldn’t explain how the car park worked.The stairs going up to our room were filthy, the carpet in the corridor was also filthy and thread bare.Our tiny room …….. the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, there was thick dust on the shelf above the clothes hanger, only one bedside lamp. The shower was very hit and miss, turned itself off and the temperature would keep changing.It’s safe to say, we will never be returning.The only plus side was, the evening meals and breakfast were excellent.

Stayed here many times over a few years for the fantastic peaceful views, amazing plentiful meals whatever I order to eat and clean rooms. Comfortable bed and bedding. Staff eager to help and usually pleasant ( especially the staff who have worked at the Commodore for a while) . New staff members not as pleasant but still efficient. Have already booked again! Totally recommended.

A little run down but the two barmen made up for this. Food was excellent good value lovely to sit out on balcony. Both members of staff were efficient and friendly

Great views , great food, great service. Called in here on a Saturday night for food and we sat upstairs with a great view of morecambe bay. The service was excellent and our waiter could not of been more helpful and worked very hard as it was a busy night. The food was great and I would highly recommend this place.

Having just stayed at the commodore recently, l would certainly not be returning. The room was in need of a major makeover , carpet’s curtains disgraceful and dirty. Bathroom had a loose toilet seat , cracked washbasin with a poor effort of a repair. The shower head dirty, the on off handle very loose . Windows not clean and in poor condition. Bed not very comfortable, furniture dated and marked. Stairway up to rooms is disgusting walls and carpet very dirty. Door entrance lock very poorly repaired , entrance untidy and bags of dirty linen left awaiting collection. Having said all this the staff are doing the best they can , in what appears a challenging workplace. Overall In my opinion a waste of money

A poor experience from start to finish. The premises need a full referbishment and the staff need trained in at least basic hospitality service. Tatty rooms, broken locks and general lack of cleanliness. Staff unsure of their roles and breakfast services were a total disaster on both occasions. For this reason we didn't eat in for an evening meal.Such a shame as it has potential but come on guys, this is just not good enough.Disappointed and annoyed with our experience.

Been here 2 days not staying there but have eaten there both days home vooked food delicious and huge portions. Staff are lovely very friendly. I think we will eat here every day highly recommended
