Miller and Carter
Our visit to Miller & Carter Newton Mearns to celebrate my upcoming birthday was fantastic. The atmosphere of the restaurant was intimate. Although there were other people who were dining at the same time as we were, their presence was almost unnoticeable. The staff were attentive, yet unobtrusive, and our meals were perfection!What we did notice however, was the placement of an outside light, which appeared to be directly beneath one of the windows in the area we were dining in. This bright, white light was a complete contrast to the warm lighting used throughout the restaurant. It's not necessarily a negative, but it was the only thing I could think of in regards to what I think you can improve on, as the entire experience was flawless.

It was very busy, so I was ok with the fact that it might be a bit of a wait, but service for even drinks at the table was at least 15min before our drinks arrived, our food order took about 40min which was a bit long. When our mains arrived it was perfect other than the lobster was either not fresh or over cooked as it was a bit rubbery. Service was very slow throughout x

We took our 15 year old tonight for his birthday. He has been looking forward to a birthday treat for the whole year, but we were very disappointed. The night started well with a decent welcome from our waitress (we didn't catch her name).The nachos came with my daughters cheesy garlic bread which was fine however the nachos were freezing cold, the cheese was chilled and the nachos were poured from a bag. We informed the waitress when she came to take the plates away. The steaks came, we ordered the fillet mignon rare, the plates were warm but the food quickly cooled. The main gripe we had was the lack of atmosphere, the music was turned off halfway through our night and the restaurant emptied quickly and we felt like we were in a Brewers fayre. I asked the waitress what had happened to the music to which she went to the bar and it was turned back on. The ice cream came full of chocolate sauce which I didn't ask for. I was very much disappointed in the experience overall.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Definitely will be back again. Steak was delicious and bursting with flavour. Calamari starter was good and I liked the gold sprinkles on the brownie. Really enjoyed the beef dripping with the steak too!

Absolutely first class, me and my wife went and both had the surf and turf, fillet steak with lobster tail, steak cooked perfectly and would heavily recommend the lobster, delicious.Restaurant itself for me is much better than the one in Glasgow city centre, it’s quieter and has a more relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a date night, will definitely be returning.

Had a couple of starters the buffalo wings and calamari both were very tasty followed by a fantastic Chateaubriand steak , waitress was very attentive and helpful, would recommend and return.big carpark very handy.

Went there quite few times now including yesterday, that was supposed to be our Christmas Dinner since we were working on a Christmas day, but sadly the festive menu was already finished.Ordered chicken wings, calamari.Mains were salmon, and sirloin steak.Not bad experience. Had to wait for service for a little longer than normal, but in overall it wasn't bad experience

Second visit to Miller and Carter Newton Mearns and it was throughly enjoyed. This venue has a much more chilled atmosphere in comparison to Glasgow which is where I normally go. The food was excellent and we were able to take advantage of the January set menu which was great value for money. We did opt for the 10oz filet mignon which was a £10 supplement each however it was worth it in my opinion. As always the staff are very attentive and were straight over if we needed another drink or to check everything was okay. Had a lovely afternoon and will definitely be back. Thank you!

Booked a table with less than 24 hours notice. Parking was east to access and had lots of spaces. Staff were friendly and place was clean. Low lighting created a nice atmosphere. Drinks orders and food orders taken quickly. Server was friendly and asked about any allergens. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. We had obviously been finished for a while and nobody appeared to ask if we wanted the bill or anything else. We called over a member of staff to get the bill, which then came quickly. Would definitely go again.

We had a great experience in here on Saturday night. All of the food was lovely and came out quickly. Every member of staff we encountered was polite, friendly and helpful however our server Steven totally made our experience. Steven was friendly, attentive and he made a real effort to explain the menu and the choices of steak. He made us feel so welcome, we will definitely be back.
