Romiley Dental Practice

I've been coming here for 25 years. Unfortunately since covid it's gone downhill (maybe the same as all the other dentists). I booked in months ago for a checkup which I waited 45 minutes past my appointment time for, treatment is needed with 3 separate appointments 3 months later (earliest dates). I turn up at 12pm after taking time out of work, 30 minutes later an elderly lady in the waiting room tells me she's actually been waiting over an hour. I go to ask how long they're delayed since the 4 staff on reception never bothered to inform us all. They're behind around an hour. I had to leave the appointment as I needed to head back to work, I also had to cancel the other appointments since the initial appointment couldn't be rebooked for another 2 months. So months of waiting with some problems all not to be seen. Perhaps don't ram your diaries and leave appointments for when you need to rebook people due to your delays. People can't be expected to wait around all day, atleast have the sense to inform your patients, especially when they're elderly that they'll be waiting over an hour past their slot. Poor service from your reception staff, poor telephone manner and poor face to face service. Sarah Johnston is a great dentist hence the added star, it's a shame the practice is heavily over booked that you can't get seen for months and have delays when you turn up. I'll find another dentist but here's a few suggestions. Get an online booking system on your website, inform patients of wait times when they arrive, put a clock in the waiting room, if you're running behind go up and tell your customers how long the delay is. If running behind over an hour you should probably think to send a text out to customers just to let them know.

I’ve been coming here for 30+ years and out of the blue they’ve cancelled NHS support. Not only that, but they’re trying to make me pay an extortionate monthly amount for checkups. This was the best dentist around, but since the new owners took over it’s not the same. Pure greed.

Have always found the staff to be very nice. My dentist does a good job of making sure we are all looking after our teeth and is lovely with my young child. The hygienist is so nice and adds that extra level of help and advice - definitely worth spending the extra pennies on him.

I don't know the name of my new dentist but I was so impressed with the treatment she gave me today. Although there was a half hour delay and I had to wait , she was quick and professional and although I had a filling it didn't hurt. She put composite to fill the back and front if my front teeth which were wearing away and it has made such a remarkable difference and has done so much for my self esteem and I can now smile with confidence so thankyou. Also, as always the reception staff were super lovely even when I was on such a high I forgot to pay! So thankyou Romiley dental practice. From Rebecca Jones.

Missed one appointment due to an accident, unable to inform. Dentist swiped me off books and cancelled other appointment without any notice.Edit: had a phone call shortly after writing this review, offering to re book an appointment but not through the NHS. Taking the bill from £100 to £700 plus.Money grabbing at its finest

We now live over 50 miles from the practice but continue to travel in order to receive excellent dental care and advice from Liam Donaghy.We hope to visit the practice for as long as we are able.Thank you.

Quickly attended to after breaking a crown. Good service all round.

Was with this dental practice for many years and my dentist did the bare minimum of care as I was on the NHS.Recently they went fully paid and teeth I mention 2 check ups back of having issues with that were shrugged off have now had deep filling put in because they ignore the issue and decay got inside the small hole in the tooth.The new practice was shocked by the state they had been left in and I need further replacements to filling done from here. I spent many years terrified of going to the Dentist untill Liam Donaghy perservered with me and gave me confidence and trust. Appointment today on time,efficient an d although private , cheaper than some of my friends pay

My family has been coming to Romiley dental practice for over 20 years, We all used to see Mr Hull who was fantastic and he has now retired. We now have Sarah Johnston who has taken over from Mr Hull and WOW she is AMAZING! She is so thorough with her work. She is lovely, professional & puts you at ease straight away. She talks you through everything and makes sure you are comfortable & happy with everything. Very very happy. The best dentist you could wish for.
