Disgusting. Hadn’t kept water down for 2 days, took 16 hours for someone to give me a drip (they forgot). I have a spinal injury but was refused anywhere to lie down after a 20 hour wait in A&E. Partner was asked to leave due to ‘limited space’ as he was advocating for me and stating treatment was atrocious as staff were laughing in the back as people were crying and at time screaming waiting to be seen. While he was told to leave (he was assertive but not aggressive, violent, or used any kind of rude, swearing or personally directed language whatsoever) other people could have 3 people with them. I passed out with pain and was thrown back in a chair. Emergency call to another friend to advocate as I couldn’t myself I was so sick (was eventually admitted for a week). She pointed out to staff 8 trolleys not being used as she walked through but was told (rudely) that was incase of emergencies…no idea what constitute an emergency in their eyes at A&E. Not my first rodeo here - avoid if you can. PALs do nothing and also a lot of friends reviews saying the same are removed. Let’s see how long this one lasts.

Didn’t listen to what I was saying about my symptoms until I finally got to see a different doctor on my third visit and I then needed to be transferred to Birmingham for emergency surgery on my back Kept getting moved around in the corridors . The nurses are try to do their best in very difficult situations , and with the winter coming how is this going to get any better ! Triaging patients in ambulance is really not the best answer , I’ve nursed for over 40 years and I’m both ashamed and sorry for how the staff are being forced to try to look after patients.

My wife has visited the Hospital for various tests recently -the Appointments were dealt with promptly-and the staff involved were very efficient and helpful. We also had a visit to A & E and experienced what pressures this Department is under.Nevertheless the Doctors and Nurses we saw were professional and helpful. My wife had a brief stay in one of the Wards and she was dealt with in a similar manner. As a final comment I am not sure if A and E still have waiting targets but if they do they are a waste of time in view of the constant flow of people turning up there and people in waiting Ambulances.

Absolutely disgusting,I have an abdominal pain and feel nauseous, the pain got so bad I passed out and had a false positive pregnancy test. My GP referred me to gyne the emergency unit rang me to come in and sent me for a scan. They failed to mention to me that I have a large ovarian cyst they gaslight me and told me nothing was wrong whilst I was clearly in pain, they made rude implications that I was making it up. I went to my GP who reviewed the results and told me about the cyst that they failed to mention, he rang gyne and they refused to see me. They were rude to him on the phone (he put it on speaker so I could hear) she said “ just give her some pain killers” “ I’ve done my part” and “I refuse to see her” she used some colourful language I can’t mention. I’m 24 F and just feel so disregarded and in pain I’m at a loss of what to do. Nobody deserves to put up with that level of incompetence.

Only reason for a second star is the female porter who actually wanted to help patients, brought us all food and drink after hours of being neglected (30+ of us) because Right from the mask police (who have their mask round their chin) at the door, to reception being dismissive and rude, the obese security guard that got up 3 times during my whole visit (5hrs) and only for his own gain (toilet, bottle of water and a cuppa), triage barely speaking English and calling names so strangely nobody had a clue who they are calling, meanwhile patients sat 4+ hours with no access to food or drink as all the vending machines are broken , no care or compassion, no updates, no access to pain relief, no follow through when you explain you have been waiting longer than every single person in the waiting room only to find out the 5th time of asking they forgot to put me on the list.Sack the security guards and 95% of the porters, the receptionists and start again, and maybe make the triage calling computerised as this would save hours of the nurse trying to guess the name and the patient having no clue as it isn't even close to the sound of their name.I am now home, untreated for the 2nd time in a week with no access or offer to any other service given by the NHS over the last 8 DAYS. Shambles.

The 5 stars are for the doctors in the A&E dept. I have attended with elderly parents twice in a month and seen by 2 different doctors, both outstandingly polite and apologetic for lack of equipment causing a 2hr and 1hr unnecessary delay.

The care received by family member who has had to be admitted several times over past year to Acute Respiratory Ward has been ok... Some excellent members of staff on that ward (Kieron)... but also some absolutely poor ones with no communication skills. As for communicating with relatives it's non-existent, forget trying to get them to answer the phone on Respiratory Ward when you want an update as could try all day and not get through. No discharge plans each time just a phone call to say come pick them up, discharged without all the correct medication, no referrals to adult social care so that family can get support put in to help them care for the person... If this is how they treat relatives how are they treating our loved ones?

Left hospital 4.15 pm after a weeks stay. Was told meds and discharge paperwork would be ready, was told paperwork had been written up.couldn’t get meds as farmacy closed at 4pm.We left after being told to come in morning and they would be ready, now 1.10 pm Saturday and after 2 phone calls to see if ready were told no.We would receive phone call when ready to pick up.Disgracefull behaviour and told lies into the bargain. This system is badly broken and should be fixed quickly

I had asked to have gas and air to have a smear test. This was granted and today I had the procedure. The team were incredible. The doctor explained about everything and gave me options. One nurse held my hand throughout and helped me breathe properly to remove the fear. The whole team were incredible and very understanding. Thank you so much.
