The Six Bells, Thame
lovely food, with good deals for lunchtime diners. We were given a very sensible table as we had a dog with us, where people didn't have to walk past.

Four of us visited Six Bells for Christmas Party menu. The whole experience was excellent. The soup starter delicious, the tiramisu and Christmas pudding desserts excellent, but the main star of the show was the turkey roast which was very generously portioned, lovely turkey, plenty of gorgeous roasties and loads of well-cooked sprouts. Plenty of gravy. Compliments to the chef.Nothing was too much trouble, the service was friendly and attentive. Special thanks to Gen, our main server who was professional, welcoming and helpful throughout the evening.Definitely recommended.

An attractive pub with a warm welcome, a good range of real ale, tasty sandwiches and excellent service. All pubs should be like this! Two nearby pubs were closed on the Friday lunchtime that we had tried beforehand. We wouldn't have discovered this 6 Bells if one of them had been open (as advertised). What luck!

The place is absolutely fantastic, friendly staff and really good food. 12oz steak was good quality and perfectly cooked. Sticky toffee pudding exactly how it should be. Would I visit this place again, absolutely yes.

Two lovely lunches at The Six Bells this week. Stopped off on the way to a short break in Oxford and enjoyed it so much we repeated the experience on way back. The sandwiches are delicious and generous and come with gorgeous chunky chips. Plenty of choice for veggies too. Just what we’re looking for at lunchtime, all enjoyed in front of an open fire. The staff were lovely. We’ll be sure to be back.

Service is nothing to complain about and the pub itself is nice. But the food is an absolute scam of money. Portion sizes are ridiculously small as if the six bells is some sort of fine dining Michelin star experience (its not) and for what I paid (£20 for what were essentially three sides, which was supposedly a 3 for 2 deal..) what I got was nothing special and so small in size it was just comical. The other items on the menu suffered from the same symptoms (namely absurd prices for small and uninspiring meals), I would recommend eating pub food somewhere else.

My initial welcome was poor as I sat at the bar for a couple of mins and with 3 people behind the bar I eventually asked if I could buy a beer!!! After that it was ok but to be honest was feeling it so we had one drink and left. For info they serve food on bank holidays until 6pm with there normal menu and do have some daily specials such as Monday is pub classics for £10 and Tuesday I is 2 steaks and bottle of wine for £60.It’s dog friendly, has a car park at the rear and a heated external seating area.Nice enough but have been to better more friendly fullers pubs

We visited a few pubs in Thame and The Six Bells was by far the best.Excellent well kept ales. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. The Fullers HSB was a cracking pint. We will definitely return.
