Alexandra Fountain

This fountain was erected in memory of Queen Alexandra who sailed from Dundee to Denmark fairly often. The fountain was presented by William Longair who was Lord Provost from 1905 to 1908.The fountain was filled in and does operate today. Worth a view if nearby in Dundee.The sweet-faced verdi-gris angel is poised sheltering under the ornate crowned plinth, and facing towards the Tay. Ultimately a lovely place to have a memorial.
