Derby Olympus Judo Club

This is a lovely friendly place to practice judo. Everyone is open to help and perfectly develop their skills. Dean and the rest of the coaches make for a great place to develop yourself. I do really big progres by myself in this club.

I’ve been linked to Derby Olympus judo club for over 25 yrs first as a player now the father of a judoka , throughout that time the coaches , Dean , Andy and Dave have provided top notch coaching purely for the love of the sport and developing future generations of players .As of late Covid 19 has had a major impact on the club ,however the team have implemented many safe guarding procedures to protect the welfare of all staff and attendees whilst implementing a comprehensive judo specific training program . Well done to all involved , keep up the fantastic work .

My daughter attended derby olympus judo club and unfortunately left judo after 4.5 years of training due to lack of progression and opportunities. Being told to not use her training previously gained to develop and progress, spoke to the staff here on several occasions about how her progress is going and also about being held back with no success on moving forward when she is more than able of a successful randori and had entered more than I can remember competitions and has always placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in each of these! She has since joined a different martial arts and is enjoying this much more and taekwondo has so much more health benefits to it.

Derby Olympus Judo Club is a great club, it offers youngsters and adults an opportunity to develop confidence, fitness, a sense of respect for others.My son Ernie started there 7 years ago and never looked back. He’s now a strong, fit confident young man with a great attitude- and I believe that a lot of who he is can be linked to the coaching and support and sense of community that he gets from his judo club.

Top club. Joined as a complete beginner 9 months ago and have always felt welcomed with my skill level catered to. The club has a real community feel to it, the coaches are highly experienced and approachable and activities are conducted safely with the diligence needed to progress in a combat sport. Great club that I see myself at for years.

I have been going to this club for 9 years and I have thoroughly enjoyed every time I have been. There is always a great work ethic and the coaches really look out for what you need to improve on and try their best to make you a better judoka. There is a very friendly atmosphere and the coaches and students are very friendly. I most definitely recommend attending.

Derby Olympus Judo Club is a place I enjoy attending learning new things about judo by the week. My time at this club has been amazing from the support and encouragement from the coaches to the progression of my judo journey. I thank the coaches for everything they have done for me and will always support this club in years to come. Definitely recommended this club

I’ve been training at Derby Olympus for a long time now and it is an excellent club. The coaches are very passionate about judo, they support and encourage everybody on the mat to train to the best of their ability. The classes are both fun and good exercise and everybody on the mat is very friendly. I would highly recommend this club to anybody interested in martial arts or self defence.

This is a really great Judo club! My son has been going for several months now. Everyone one is really friendly and the instructors really get the kids involved. There are adult classes too but I haven't been to any of those, but I wouldn't mind trying at some point.
