It's okay, understand that it is still a work in progress but felt that there was less than I expected there to be. For someone who enjoys visiting open gardens, missed knowing what plants were- not many signs on the plants to describe them plus on our visit some of the place was sealed off as private. I expect the Japanese garden will be beautiful once finished. Perhaps visit again in a few years time to see the progress.

The gardens are open every Thursday 11.00am -3.00pm and one Sunday every month 11.00am -5.00pm.Pre-booked tickets are £5.50 or £6.50 on the day. The highlights are the beautiful setting of the large lily pond and the walled garden.Ideal for picnics and plenty of space to relax. A really lovely garden in the process of restoration. Great event days with activities for children and entertainment. Dog friendly and disabled access. The volunteers are very helpful and well informed. The outdoor food kiosk has a good range of hot and cold drinks, and lovely variety of cakes. Gluten free food available on request.

Lovely place to visit, we went on a particularly nice day when it was hot and sunny and they had musicians and stalls on the croquet lawn. Only a small fee for entry and parking available. Would recommend to all.
