Nidd Gorge

Very special free woodland. The bird life is amazing to see.

Good for a challenging ramble, excellent for dog walk. Acces to the water but gets muddy, plenty of surfaced trails but many natural tracks.

First visit to Nidd Gorge and was very impressed. Absolutely perfect for dog walkers. Beautiful spot.

Small car park (@ 25/30 spaces) serving local beauty spot. No facilities in car park other than rubbish bins.Nidd Gorge is a very beautiful area. Well made path leads down to River Nidd. You can cross over the river bridge and walk in the direction of either Knaresborough or Ripley. The terrain on this side of the river is a little tricky in places with some steep inclines. The path has wooden slats in place in some parts, but I went following days of very heavy rain and the path towards Ripley became too muddy to walk.However, coming back over the bridge & staying on the side of the river nearest to the car park, the path was again well made and easy to walk on.Lovely place to spend a couple of hours walking with the dogs in tranquil surroundings.

Very handy free car park for the stunning Nidd Gorge. The woodland is beautiful, well managed and with helpful steps and boardwalks for when it gets wet and muddy. Lots of wildlife, birds and wildflowers.The only down side is no toilets at the car park. To be fair, there's not much space to work with so it'd be tricky to put any in.

Free car park usually has enough spaces even at peak times. What more can you ask! Nidd Gorge itself is lovely. Its a wooded area that follows the river Nidd. We normally stick to the larger paths but there is plenty exploring to do if you wanted. Great for dogs and kids or just a nice walk.

Great walk! Recommended getting there early as the car park can get full very quickly

Wonderful variety of walks along the river or higher along the sides of the gorge. Peaceful atmosphere with occasional seats for rest and contemplation . Bird song in a woodland setting. Great dog walking.

Fabulous walk to the viaduct lots of bird life

Parked here to walk around Nidd Gorge. Such a beautiful place, (even in the rain) managed by the Woodland Trust. Will return when less muddy to do that full walk.
