I went to this bookshop all the way from Singapore to have my books repaired and restored, and the owner Rab did not disappoint. I received the books by mail when I was back home and I was amazed at the restoration skill. The books were perfectly repaired and beautiful. I couldn't be happier. Had I known better then, that the skill is that good, I would have requested a better looking spine for one of my books.

A creaky old door and an obnoxious bell welcome you into what might be one of the loveliest book stores I've ever been in. Heaps of leather bound antique treasures strewn across a small room, beckoning to be discovered. The check out is nestled amidst rows upon rows of books. It's cramped and unpractical. It's so, so very charming. I came across the store on accident but I'm very glad I did. (Also the owner's son is cute, but that's just a side note)

I recently had a self published book bound from scratch by the folks at The Gently Mad and I must say I am very impressed by the quality of service. From my endless initial questions (I know nothing about book binding) to a glorious finished product the guys were incredibly helpful and talented.The book was made completely bespoke to my wishes and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Thoroughly recommend.

First class restoration of a book sleeve that was 60 yrs old. The cover was tattered into 10 pieces and ripped in some other sections. I collected the book just now and it looks brand new!! I’m in awe and over the moon as it was of great sentimental value! Will 100% use again and this shop comes highly recommended!!! What a talent. Outstanding customer service- thank you guys!!!

What a charming shop to stumble across. I would love to revisit this little place. I've spent what felt like hours browsing through the shelves and discovering interesting titles. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the owner very nice.
