Alexandra House

Overall it is a beautiful place (visually).This is the third time I and my partner have stayed at this place and on every single visit the WiFi connection is horrible. There is no signal or any kind of stable WiFi connection, apart from being at the bar area.Breakfast is 7/10, worth the £10. Dinner is 5/10.The rooms are restful and clean at first glance.Multiple times, we have noticed mould in the shower corners, and the bed mattress is extremely springy. Overall the rooms lack attention to detail but are clean.Generally, the staff are kind and approachable, but there were situations when we felt awkward and unsatisfied with the help we have been provided with.Great place to bring your dog, as this place is surrounded by fields.Rating: 6/10

Just spent a lovely bank holiday weekend at the hotel. Originally we were only going to spend 2 nights at the hotel but extended our stay to 3 nights because we were having such a great time. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was in a great location for everything we wanted to do over the weekend, and excellent value for money. Our twin room was a good size and clean. Food at the hotel was also spot-on, especially the breakfast. The pool and gym facilities were brilliant, I really enjoyed using them all. Thank you to everyone at the hotel and we will certainly be back soon.

The hotel is great value for money though probably wouldn't stay here again, it's almost impossible to get a stable signal (mobile & WiFi). So if you need to make a call, do work or watch a movie on your laptop, you'll likely leave very frustrated. It's such a small thing but it's so bad you can't help but get frustrated with it

Staying at the Historic Riverside Mansion was like stepping into a period drama. The mansion's grandeur and antiques evoked a sense of old-world charm. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff's knowledge of the mansion's history added depth to our visit. The riverside location provided a serene backdrop. A stay here is a journey through time.

I visited Alexandra House for a day meeting. Plenty of parking and very close to the motorway. I received a tour of the venue which looked excellent, great facilities and very clean. The meeting room had been recently refurbished and was very comfortable with good technology. Sat in the newly refurbished bar and lounge before my meeting to do a bit of work which was a great open space. Will definitely consider this venue for future meetings.

I stayed at the Alexandra House Hotel at the weekend and it was a lovely experience. I checked out on Sunday and flew back to Dublin that evening. On landing I realised I had left my car and house keys in the room safe. I got in contact with the hotel and spoke to Zak on Reception who was exceptionally helpful and located my keys. He then went the extra mile, emailing me and phone calls to walk through the courier process from the UK to Ireland. And helped me with the required information for the courier company such as the dimensions of the packaging etc... He was so good to package the keys up for me so that they were ready for collection. I have not come across such amazing customer service before. The keys arrived this morning and I am over the moon to receive them. I rang to thank Zak and just want to say here again thank you Zak, you are a life saver!

We stayed in August for a birthday celebration. The surrounding area is lovely and the price was great. The front desk staff were very helpful and the spa and pool was very relaxing with great facilities. Lockers were broken though, so had to trust fellow users. Jacuzzi was wonderful. Dinner was awful, expensive and flavourless, service was good but slow. Servers were very nice and apologetic but they definitely had kitchen problems. The table behind us waited 15 minutes for sauce for dry chicken. Breakfast was okay, just standard buffet style. Lots of options. Didn't seem very much veggie or vegan option though. The hallways and rooms are very dated. Definitely in need of a refurb. The room and bathroom were standard, nothing special.

I really liked the hotel, facilities, power shower, lounge space, breakfast, spacious rooms especially the friendly and helpful bar/restaurant staff with special mention to Leanne who works on the morning receptionist who greeted us with great energy and info that we asked for.Great selection at breakfast and the gym and sauna were lush.As I travel a lot for work and leisure only minor things that I think could improve:1. Upon arrival from Essex I had my friend stay with me that arrived from Cornwall before me. Now to not make them wait as my guest I sent them money to pay for the room at the property and relax untill I arrived as it was my booking for two people. Now when i arrived I was held up because I wasn't allowed my room info or room number for my own booking and I had to call my guest (luckily I had battery) to ask which room I was in which I thought was wild and felt a bit uneasy about that.2. I wasn't told about my parking, to leave registration at the desk I was informed by my guest and wasn't explained properly where the rooms were situated. Ended up going into conference rooms by accident (signs may help as you have to cross the restaurant) just didn't get a good vibe from that receptionist.3. Better lighting driving into the property coming off the country roads at night if possible as nearly missed my turning4. Bluetooth connection to TVs to screen our phones wasn't available and apps on TV didn't work. WiFi is intermittent in roomsAll in all it was very relaxing lovely surroundings to walk in the morning and just what I needed before coming back into the hustle and bustle of London.

Rooms really tired.Meals - can't imagine worst.Consider surrounding different restaurants, for the same price far better food.Long waiting for the service.Other hotels in the nearby area much better.
