My van was sent a recall letter to check on the breaks. Seeming urgent I took the most convenient time for both the garage; and myself. Living fairly far away from a Mercedes van service garage, it takes 1 and a half hours to get to it, I took the day off of work as id likely need it anyway for my trade.Now that the scene is set.. The garage is a two hour walk to the town centre so took a bus there as I was not told a time in which my van would be ready for collection and did not feel the reception a nice place to sit for hours on end. After a 40 minute journey I was called by the receptionist to tell me that my van could no longer be seen today as the qualified mechanic had just called in sick. This is at 9:48, meaning that whilst I was dropping my van off that mechanic wouldn’t have been there so I could have been told right then and there! I informed the lady on the other end of the phone that this is very inconvenient for me as I’d:1) taken the day off of work to do this2) did not live in a close vicinity to this garage, it’s a 3 hour round trip.The only thing that they could do is re-book my van to the garage and have my van delivered back to my home address so that I wouldn’t have to today. However I’d still need to do this very same process again (losing 3 hours of my day driving) in the hope that they don’t repeat this process for me all over again.I thought that Mercedes-Benz would offer a high class customer service, thus justifying the higher priced service than the local loyal mechanic. I’m not looking for compensation for my lack of earning due to this mistake though seeming as a “recall” is already an oversight on Mercedes’ part, one that is inevitable and I’m grateful for being made aware re and having that mistake rectified. I don’t see how having my van delivered back to my home address whenever it’s convenient for this particular garage is rectifying anything. This would mean I have to take the bus back (2+ hours) then a taxi as I live in the countryside.. at my expense!

Brilliant service, prompt, professional and helpful. We had problems with our motorhome while on holiday and they fitted us in really quickly. Andrea (I think, I’m terrible with names) even offered to drive us to a farm shop while we waited. A big thank you to Adam and Jack, you were all so helpful and friendly!!
