This practice accepted me having been removed from Ivry steet list immediately after refusing covid vaccine,Barrack lane the only practice near me that replied to my wish to join list after advising my refusal of covid vaccine. My wife with Barrack Lane for several years understanding of her successful unconventional approach to breast cancer, she prefers to speak to the nurse practitioner. On one occasion I accompanied my wife about a somewhat persitent cough, mentioning her breast cancer not returning the doctor advise 'Cannot discuss cancer you have an oncologist, more than my jobs worth'.... my wife long since ceased communication with the rude oncologist. Clearly we are moving to a private system.... maybe delay will give the body time to heal itself compared to conventional medicine that has the drug industry firmly in its corrupt grip.

I am not a patient with your practice but have had dealings with you regarding my sister who is. I had to ring on Tuesday 16th November regarding a Parking charge and spoke with EMILY. She was helpful and charming. My daughter is a GP so I am very aware of the pressure that the medical and office staff are under so a little bit of praise now and then does no harm.
HAPPY COUPLE JOURNEY.

This used to be good surgery, and now it's gone down. My wife phoned up. We believe she is pregnant . The doctor told her to ring back and make an appointment, so we rang back and told her it was not an emergency or an important ring back the next day we kept getting flogged off. We will make complaint to head office and if some thing go wrong or loose it will be sue them and to news papers. It's disgraceful they not bother with it.If could be given no star.My wife rang back now and told us to wait an extra 3 months, so then now say got to do a total of 4 months, then ring back. With my 1st partner never had this hassle with my daughter back, then now seem they just can't be bothered. They do not bother about people health nore when they are pregnant. Can't wait to move back to Norfolk and get doctors who do care.Very clever, someone diagnosed someone who don't listen to what patients say and not see them and do it over the phone.

This is purely my own personal experience today.Nicola on reception was really polite & helpful.Dr Mann (don't know him) but was very understanding of my circumstances & situation. Even sent a text to inform me prescription could not be sent electronically as per usual, but there was a hard copy waiting on reception for me. Hoping my daughter can collect as being disabled not easy for me to do so. The conversation was pleasant even though l did feel l was leading the way. These new 'pathway' rules are ridiculous. It's just a way of making you go around the block when you know the straight direction you need to go. Thank you Dr Mann it was actually a pleasure to discuss my issues with you today. Here's hoping for some positive response.

Having reviewed some of the reviews here, I find it hard to understand how these are related to the same GP. We moved back to the area 18 months ago and signed up to Barrack Lane soon after, and our experience has been exceptional. My wife has a chronic condition that requires regular hospital visits and support from the GP with regard to blood tests, etc, and they have undertaken all this without fuss. Plus, our 2 children under 5 have had more need to attend the GP than we would like, but on every occasion the service received has been first class. We've always found the reception staff to be friendly and have never had an issue getting an appt so long as you remember to phone 1st thing and don't expect f2f for every issue. Personally, I think the balance of using technology and f2f to be just right here. Special mention to Matt, who is one of the CPs at the practice..He's been an absolute star with our kids. Best GP service we've ever received!

Phoned at 8am to get an appointment for my 7 month old baby we don't live in ipswich and have been visiting family you should be able to have a one off doctors appointment at any surgery so I phone barrack lane as I use to be registered with them and I knew well thought it was a very good doctors surgery I had got given an appointment over the phone from someone who was ok reception when I turned up to fill paper work before my appointment I got told by a different receptionist that I havent got an appointment and they can't see my child because I'm not registered I explained all my family is registered with them but no they wasn't having it even the duty doctor came out and refused me so I had dragged my poorly child out in the cold spend £10 on a taxi to have wasted my time so I'm well an truly disgusted with barrack lane and will never be using them again .

This place goes from bad to worse. You can't even call it a service any more. Every time I try to call it takes so long to get an answer I've never been below 8 in the call que...today 19! Not acceptable since call credit gets rinsed while you're waiting for someone to answer. They really need to get more staff or a call back system in place since nobody has an hour or more and endless credit to waste waiting for someone to answer the phone. Terrible.

Absolutely horrible standard of care. The phone is often bogged down with calls, and you can often call up at 8am on the dot and still be 30th in the call queue. If you don't call first thing in the morning, don't expect an appointment any time soon, and they don't accept walk-ins. I have gone to them for numerous long-term issues over the last 3-and-a-half years. One (a mental health consultation) has gone nowhere - I've had radio silence on that front for 3 years. One matter I spoke to a doctor who had basically no training or experience in the field, and was forced to do research as I sat in the room with them. Another I finally got referred to an actual clinic for diagnosis and treatment ... about 2 years after raising the issue in the first place. I have more recently turned in a Statement of Physician for a job application that is EXTREMELY time-sensitive, a form with all its instructions for my doctor clearly written on it and not likely to take more than 15 minutes. I gave it in with a week's notice, and made it clear that the deadline was non-negotiable. It took 3 days to even make it to the doctor's in-tray, and I have no faith it'll get done over the weekend or for that matter on time at all. I feel like they're good if you can be in and out with a prescription in 10 minutes and utterly useless for anything more involved than that.

Terrible experience. Dr are rude, seems like they don’t care about listening to you. They are so disorganised it is shocking to have such treatment. They literally call you to ask for information they already have on their system.Avoid at all costs this GP is awful.
