I've been going to buff. for the past eighteen months and I even though I'm moving soon, I cannot possibly imagine going anywhere else. Jen is my gal, and every time I leave (after a good natter and a cracking soundtrack) I feel thoroughly pampered and zen. Jen is an artist in the truest sense of the word – I've never seen someone so talented at nails and so creative. I'd never go to anyone or anywhere else. She looks after you from the moment you enter the salon, taking interest in your own ideas and putting her signature care and attention onto the finished product. Plus, the compliments I always get on my nails are lovely and I can't take credit!

I love the vibe. The place is designed with most latest trend. Very clean, non toxic smell of acetone. I highly recommended this nail salon.

I've been going to Buff for over 2 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. The whole team are super friendly & talented by my go to gal is Vanda. I genuinely look forward to having my catch up with her while she works her magic on my nails, it's legit like catching up with a pal (but you get beautiful nails too). Super creative and so welcoming, cannot recommend her and the rest of the buffs gals enough!

I've been a regular customer at Buff for a year now and highly appreciate the talent & professionalism of the staff there. The space is very cozy and made even cozier by Vanda, Jessica and Jen - the three technicians who have worked on my nails so far :)

I cannot reminisce enough about my gel manicure at Buffs! I travelled from Canada, and didn't have a chance to get a manicure before I left, so I was in desperate need for a mani. After doing careful research, I rang Buff up and wanted to see if there were any openings for manicures that were at the start of my trip and to my surprise there was an opening on one of my busier days. So hot tip here, if you can't find a time that works for you through their online booking system, give them a ring and you may be in luck! I ended up getting a linear french manicure with Tara, and she was fabulous - I was also introduced to their BIAB in the shade flubber, and I am to this day obsessed (unfortunately we don't carry that specific shade and brand of gel in Canada). The space was super quaint, and super clean, and it really was such a relaxing way to start my day. The salon is also located in an area that's not super touristy, so you get to feel like a local for a few hours. Definitely booking some appointments when I'm back in the fall.

The girls who did my mani and pedi were both very kind and easy to talk with, and the pedicure is looking great, but I will say that this salon is as 100% not worth the money. I thought it was going to be great but came away disappointed. As a heads up, they don’t have any tubs for pedicures and they do them 100% dry. They also do manicures without soaking. I thought the manicure would last a long time, but you can see in the photos that even after 1 day the tips of my manicure have started to develop divots.Also, the poor girls doing pedicures.. there’s absolutely no decent set up for them to do them. They sit on these extremely short wooden stools that have no back or padding at all, and then have your foot on the joint of their knee for the entire pedicure.In the long run, there’s absolutely no way they’re not going to develop back problems. The woman who was doing mine went straight into another pedicure afterwards..The last thing I’ll say is that the chairs that the customers sit on are wooden and have no cushion, which started to hurt my back after two hours.I might come back here in a pinch for another manicure if I couldn’t find somewhere more reasonably priced, but I’d much rather go somewhere where the manicure technicians have more experience, and the salon cares more about the physical well being of their employees.

My visits to Buff are always the highlight of my week. It’s such a treat to get my nails done: I always feel much fancier, more professional and always massively cheered up. I always see Vanda, an expert in manicures, who can help me choose colours if I haven’t made up my mind and provides the banter every single time.

I've been visiting Buff for around a year now since moving to Edinburgh, and it definitely is the best nail choice I've made. After seeing Jen's designs, I just had to book an appointment. Jen is a very talented artist and paints nails like she's painting a picture - the process really is so intriguing to watch, and relaxing too. Imagine Bob Ross as a nail artist, and that is Jen! It also helps that the nail bar has a chill atmosphere and the girls in there are so down to earth and have great chat. I always look forward to my next design and the compliments I receive on them are so bittersweet, as I only wish I could say I'd done them myself!

I’ve been going to Buff now for two years this month! I will never go anywhere else, Vanda is brilliant, whether I go in with ideas or ask for her input she is so creative and talented and I always leave with stunning nails. She indulges my love of colour and always has good advice for keeping my nails in great condition. Her chat is great too, I look forward to our 4 weekly catch ups, it’s like visiting a pal!
