Helen Cowley Riding Academy

I had a Natural horsemanship lesson yesterday with Helen & Heather, I had the privilege and pleasure of grooming Ted and then doing some in hand work - I was so nervous as I had a bad injury last year from falling off and am still in recovery. I now think of myself as Helen Cowley Academy cheer leader and 110% super fan of Ted. Thank you Helen & Heather for making me feel so welcome and at ease. Such a beautiful place with beautiful horses & people xxx

My daughter and son both attend Helen's riding school and they are loving their lessons. Helen is really patient and adapts to each child and what they need. I also love that the kids are encouraged to learn about caring for his horses and are able to help out in the stables. I would highly recommend.

Our daughter is horse mad so we booked her into a couple of holiday club sessions. She had the best time, and was really welcomed and supported. Thank you!

Having not ridden for around 8 years and not had a lesson for about 15 years I was somewhat concerned at how this would go. I had nothing to be worried about. I have over 30 years experience in the care of horses and stable management. I arrived to a clean and tidy yard. Some happy horses in the stables and field. This is not a huge riding school and it felt like a very friendly calm place. The horse I rode was absolutely perfect. Ted. Quite the school master and in my fitter days I would have said an easy ride but all these years out of the saddle left me slightly lacking in the stamina department. The quality of teaching was great. I cried in the car on the way home because I was so happy. Just what I needed to give me the confidence to know I can still do it. I hope to be back very soon.

I am an adult rider that booked for a specific to address a specific issue, Rosa my instructor was brilliant. She gave me just the right amount of 'nudge' to get the very most out of my 30 min lesson. I will definitely be back.The yard was full of kids having the best time with the ponies, this may initially put an adult rider off... don't let it! HCRA have the best ability to make all welcome.

We had a lovely lesson with Helen and Co. My kids have little prior experience of riding but the team really spent a lot of time with them and going through basics all whilst making it fun! They were so welcoming and the horses themselves are clearly well looked after and loved. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!

Such a lovely yard, friendly, kind and knowledgeable. A brilliant place for children in particular. They were fantastic with my little girl I couldn't recommend more.

Enjoyed a lovely back with Rosa at the weekend. My first time at Helen Cowley and I wanted to take it easy, have a look at the yard and meet the instructors. Everyone was really friendly and I rode the lovely George. Will be back for a lesson very soon!

Couldn't recommend them enough, the team at Helen Cowley are all super knowledgable and so welcoming. Helen is a fantastic instructor my daughters confidence and overall ability improves with each lesson. Thank you x
