Woman behind the counter is breathtakingly rude. I took a coat in to have a button put back on. When I picked it up it just fell off outside the shop. I was so irritated I had to walk away. Absolutely disgraceful customer service and the woman behind the counter needs educating. I feel sorry for her because she obviously hates her own ugly reflection.

Go to place for anything clothes related. Had few repairs done and my last visit pair of jeans taken up. Like everywhere else cost steadily creeps up but still good value and found those I’d contact with very pleasant I couldn’t fault work or service.

I had my wedding dress and bridesmaid dress both altered here in June 23. Both perfect, I'm delighted and happy to recommend.

Hi the reason I’m giving one star is because one of the staff was extremely rude.My sister & I arrived at 5:15 pm and we asked to try on the garment that had been altered.When handing us the garment the woman looked at the clock and said we are closing at 5:30.I replied I think my sister will manage to try on a polo shirt and leave the shop before 15 mins has elapsed. The woman I spoke to said that she has had customers who take longer than that!My sister has a disability and I felt this was not “kind customer service”.I felt we were not welcome in the store.We left in 5 mins and felt we were being pushed out the door. There was no friendliness in the manner & my sister was not offered a carrier bag to put the garment in.In summary the manner of this particular lady was very poor.My sister agreed with me that she thought the woman was rude.My previous visits to zips and rips was always reasonable previously.

Deborah did an amazing and very professional job on our curtains.They look fantastic.Would thoroughly recommend.

My mother brought a lovely beaded dress to zips and rips to be turned up a bit which was all okay, was told it would be £80 for it as all the beads would have to come off. Gets a phone call to say ready to pick up but when brought home loads of beads not put on and strings everywhere! I her daughter took it back down to them and they took it back again and apparently fixed it all and made her pay another £20 because it took the girl an hour to fix.. when it should have been fixed and done properly in the first place! Complete joke! Won’t be back anywhere near it and I’ll be sure to tell all to say clear.

Dreadful! Left my wedding veil in to get some material added to the edges. The young girl on the desk did not understand what I wanted so she asked another lady Deborah (who was literally screaming down the phone at someone at that time because she couldn’t hear the customer on the other end). I explained that I wanted a piece of material sown around my veil so that it sat at elbow level on either side. I was not asked at any point to try it on. Deborah pinned the piece of material onto the veil with one pin and said it was to ensure the piece didn’t get lost until they would start working on it. I went to collect it two weeks later and a foreign staff member was very abrupt and rolled her eyes at me when I said I didn’t have my ticket but I could see the veil on the hanger and it was mine. It was an absolute mess! One side of the material was sown on at a length of 26 inches and the other side was 24 inches. It hadn’t all even been sown on correctly, pieces were coming away and there were two nicks in the material where it looked like it had been sniped by scissors! And the pattern wasn’t even matching on either side. Deborah said “aw don’t worry about it love” she would fix it and asked me to come back a week later. I pointed out the two small nicks in the fabric as well and she said yes I noticed that, it is very fine? (The veil was brand new and did not have any nicks in it when I left it in). Deborah rang me 5 days later and said she needed me to buy more material because she was damaging the veil further trying to rectify the initial mistakes! I lost all faith at this point that it would actually be fixed and attempted to get a refund and the price of the ruined (unusable) veil back. I was denied the cost of the veil and only refunded the £25 I paid for the botched job. This was after Deborah lied and tried to say I pinned the material on to it and she just sowed where it was pinned! The experience I had was a shambles from the start. I would not recommend anyone use this place as they are so rude and quite frankly, they lie when they are confronted about a sub standard service. I have now had to purchase a new veil at an extra expense! That caused me so much stress in the run up to what is supposed to be such a happy occasion.

The best alterations in the Newtownabbey area. I have had several garments altered here and have never been disappointed. Friendly, quick service. I leave my item(s) in on a Saturday and collect them the following Saturday. They do always ask if I want them more quickly. Not badly priced either.
