What a hidden gem. This place might be small, but the educational value compared to the British Museum is much higher. Knowledgeable volunteers, amazing information, and incredible artefacts.Plenty for children to do (we don't have any but they're clearly catered for here in the right ways) and the volunteers adjust their approach for different age groups.Weekdays there is no parking on campus, but you can pay and display at Pub on the Pond (Singleton carpark). The Egyptian Centre is free entry and run in donations and shop sales so make sure to contribute something as you leave.A new favourite.

I visited the Egypt Centre with my granddaughter soon after it opened and returned last week with my great grandson, age seven. I was surprised that it had not seemed to change over the years. He had looked forward to the visit, but I do not know what he made of the collection. He had questions to answer on papers given to him on entering and the volunteers showed him a display concerning Mumyfying" and a game. Nothing else was within his age group or was explained. No booklet was found or available on the subjects of: The Nile

Loved this place, amazing and full of information and genuine Egyptian artifacts.A true treasure in a great surrounding with the option of food prepared by students just a few steps away.

Super nice place! Even if it seems small, there plenty of things inside and you can linger a looong time. The benevoles are super nice and super helpful, and it was great to exchange with them!I can't believe all of this is free so go there! :)

A small museum with a large and fascinating collection, and engaging activities for kids of all ages. Allow more time than you think you'll need for what appears to be a small museum, but is really quite a large one.
