Good place with good staff and decent food. The ribs were tasty and tender, and the fish of the day was also good. Worth a stop if in the area.

The Cardan Bar & Grill
A first class experience for my daughters 18th. The staff couldn't do enough for us. They even put up some posters and pics that we left in earlier in the day which made the whole experience more personal and stored the cake, played happy birthday and brought the cake out after dinner. Food was excellent and affordable. Highly recommended for any event or family get together. Thank you for making mia's 18th birthday one to remember.

Service was great, food for good and on a deal 2 courses for £22 with a drink. Some of the cocktails are premixed, which is a shame but still tasty. Will definitely be back

Lovely food here, pints are very good too. Both reasonably well priced. Staff were very friendly and courteous, and looked after their customers exceptionally well.

Food is excellent here. Staff are helpful but could be more friendly. The only negative was how long the food took to come. Starter was quick but main course and dessert took a long time. We got a quick sorry when our desert arrived. It was also quite dark in the restaurant due to the main light being a small lamp. It really feels like a pub with a restaurant stuck on the side. Only two staff on plus whoever was in the kitchen, which may be one reason for the slow service. Good value for money. Enjoyed it but wouldn't rush back.

The Cardan yet again served us a fabulous meal, I'm addicted to the mushroom toast starter, yes I know it doesn't sound like much. BUT YOU NEED TO TRY IT !! First time having the lamb rump with a side of shepherd's pie, the flavour was amazing !Staff all wonderful polite and efficient.Special £5 offer on cocktails at certain times.

The cardan has a lovely setting. The waiter was friendly and efficient. The meal however was a different story. The starter of soup was tasty and the bread roll was delicious. The main which was a chicken curry... the chicken was superb it came with a bed of veg which were bland and tasteless even the onion had lost its fight in taste. The curry sauce couldn't even make them come alive as it was weak in flavour too. The rice was perfect until I put the curry sauce on it . The crunchie cheese cake lacked any taste of a crunchie and was stodgy and again tasteless. Disappointed as previous visits to the cardin the food has always been tasty

Had a meal in the Cardan last night. There was a table of 4 and we all were raving about the food. It was all delicious, portion size was perfect. The Guinness sticky toffee pudding was outstanding. I also had the chicken wings and pork schnitzel, both dishes were gorgeous. Talented kitchen team.We were served by a guy called Sean. Sean was an amazing host, was really chatty and friendly. Sean was a wizard when it came to cocktails and his knowledge of the various cocktails was astonishing. He made great recommendations. He worked the floor great and kept everyone on their toes.

Visited The Cardan Bar and Grill today for lunch as a party of two. There was only one other table occupied and we were seated immediately with menus, no sooner had we sat in our seats and the waitress wanted our drinks order. The specials were recited as rehearsed very quickly. As our orders were taken we were noticeably cold and looked around to see if a window was open. After 15-20 minutes we asked if it would be possible to move to another seat as we were both very cold, which the people at the other table agreed they were too. The bar waiter offered to switch off the air conditioning which did eventually help.Food was served, a steak with chips and pepper sauce and a pizza with chips. The server returned to the table while we were still both on our first bite, asking was everything okay. If it hadn't been it was a little soon to comment, having barely tasted the food yet.I personally found my order bland and relatively tasteless. Could only eat half.A long time after we had stopped eating the server finally retuned to take the plates away. We then waited to be offered any dessert/teas or coffees. No one approached. I had to motion to the staff to catch their attention before they finally returned and asked would we like anything else. We were handed a menu with four items on and told one was unavailable.When nothing appealed we ordered a latte and a cup of tea.The server came back a few minutes later to say she could not do a latte as the milk was not frothing properly and could we take a normal coffee? We accepted and she returned yet again to say she was not happy serving us the milk at all as it didn't seem right and had possibly been left out. My friend accepted a black coffee but we were disappointed by this stage.I would not recommend or return.A nice looking bar and restaurant with an impressive menu which turned out to be a colossal let down.
